I was going to go with ambivalent(sp?) but I couldn’t spell it either.

Probably thinking glad he didn't get signed to long term deal.

I certainly wouldn’t be apathetic about paying a guy $32 million to play 5 games, then have to pay him even more next year or watch him walk away next offseason and set the franchise back 10 years.

Paying Elliot 90 million to slow play Dak for this to happen is a gut punch. I hope Dak finds success somewhere else after a full recovery and Dallas falls back into a sinkhole.

I’m the one taking up for Dak. Save you insults for Jerry. He fits that mold perfectly. Jones doesn’t deserve Dak.

Dak does not have contract? I wonder how that is going to play out? I know he will get paid this season with that stupid tag they put on a guy. I feel for the guy. Lose his brother and now possibly his career.

You really think Jerry doesn’t care that the best player on his team suffered a season ending injury?

If so, I’m not sure anyone can even have a conversation with you on this subject. That is a ridiculous take by you.

I’m sure he has a nice insurance policy

It’s probably not what his contract should’ve been, but I’m sure it’s more than $100 million. Not best case scenario, but financially, he’s protected.

Things are thought and said in the heat of the moment. Look at the difference in the posts from last night and today. With the way Jerry has done Dak while paying everyone else those emotions just go into overdrive and it has nothing to do with what kind of human a person is. That’s what humans do, say and do dumb stuff. And don’t get all sanctimonious, just because it wasn’t you that did it this time don’t act like you haven’t at some point in your life.

This. Brees retires and Dak heads to New Orleans with Payton. Wins a title. That’s the dream scenario.

Sounds good. You obviously don't know the saints' financials though... ton of dead money next season tied up in Brees. Dak would have to give a huge discount

Yet he was the one that drafted him? All these teams like the saints for instance passed on him in the draft.

Jerry passed on him 4 times (they had 4 picks before drafting him in the 4th), and even after drafting him he expressed being upset that he couldn’t trade up for Paxton Lynch, so no, Jerry doesn’t deserve him.

The injury was bad but it wasn’t Alex Smith / Teddy Bridgewater bad, and even those guys came back. His leg isn’t going to be amputated. If it was throwing shoulder, elbow, or multiple concussion you might have a point, but this is not anything like that. He’ll be the same player he was pre-injury this time next year at the absolute latest.

Money wise, he’s going to get the same offer he already turned down from Dallas at a minimum, and likely way more (either from Dallas or someone else) next offseason. Unless the actual injury is way worse than what is being reported, this isn’t going to cost him a dime unless he decides on his own to let Jerry leverage it and sign a lesser deal.
