Yeah. The old if you’d told me we’d hit 55 pct and 45 pct and 26 of 28 I wouldn’t have thought it’d be a dogfight. Glad we got the dub
There are games where the ball just goes in but this was a little bit of playmaking by Dylan Harper (9 assists) and getting cheap ones with lobs and dunks to Ace and Dortch.
Any points RU can steal from a dunk above the rim, is not in the opposing teams scouting report.
There were also tough shots and a couple of extra passes made that helped. Harper finding JMike Davis in the 2nd half, when Davis was wide open and set, was probably the trust factor showed in Davis by Harper. The on-court synergy is being rebuilt and there are just more options to help Dylan and Ace with Dortch and Grant capable of getting easy baskets.
Scoring 85 to 90+ points without Ace Bailey having to force up tough shots, is a positive sign.

No offense to you because everyone including the official scorekeepers do it but combining 2 point and 3 point shooting into the same statistical percentages (ie 56% from the floor) is nonsensical.
In actuality, RU shot 62% on 2’s and 45% on 3’s, along with 93% from the line. That is certainly an incredible shooting night.
And yet there were guys in the game thread complaining about the offense
RU's free throw shooting was fantastic.

We can beat anyone, when we shoot over 55 percent from the floor and 90 percent from the line, or we could defend the lane and not give up 85. Great shooting gives you a chance against anybody any night, a modest defensive effort is really helpful as well. Happy we won the game, the defensive effort was a bit better but not yet sufficient against the top half of the league.
