Best first-round matchup in the CWS?

What do you think?

The Vandy-Louisville has to be near the top, but it could be a pitcher's duel.

UL/Vandy is the best first round matchup and I don't think it's even close. Followed by UV/Ole Miss, T Tech/TCU, and then UT/UCI.

Yeah ... that's how I'd prolly rank them too. While the battle of Texas schools will generate some enthusiasm, and the "underdog" status of UCI against seemingly perennial CWS participant Texas has the David/Goliath feel to it, I think the Vandy-Louisville matchup has regional rivalry coupled with national heavyweights to push it just past UVA versus Ole Miss.



(As an aside, I can't believe Ole Miss hasn't been to the CWS in as long as it's been. That's a storyline right there.)
