from another country?

We do threads like these a lot, but I don't remember ever seeing this topic before. I thought about this the other night watching other teams play, but for the life of me I can't recall any great Duke players not from the USA. I'm sure there are some and I am just forgetting.

So I will start...Marty Pocius???

Scheyer technically has dual citizenship w/ Israel. Kyrie was born in Australia.

I would say Deng as far as talent but as far as contribution to Duke I will go with Danny Meagher.

I don’t know....have you guys seen Marty Pocious’s calves? Might be enough to give him the edge.

I did...obviously I forgot about Deng. I couldn't remember any other great ones. I thought there were a few guys with dual nationality type stuff, but I was looking for straight up came from a different country. Does the fact that there's only one or two seem strange to anyone else? I feel like other teams have more...maybe not, certainly it would depend on team.

From Canada we've had Greg Newton and Danny Meagher. Name another Canadian big man. OFC

Does Boozer count...it's basically Canada.

Also, was Domzawaski (sp?) foreign born? Not that he was the best by any means.

Dang,,must be Deng. I would have loved to seen Deng and Shaun Livingston on the floor together when they both decided to bolt. That team could have been stupid

If only he hadn't been held back by Coach K's stubbornly short rotation!

Yep. Just do the math. If K had played him 35 minutes and got him 20 shots a game at an 86% clip we would have been unstoppable. That's clearly on K.

That's 34 ppg from the field alone! Add 34 points to our total in every game and we go undefeated! And since Boateng was in college for 5 years, we'd go undefeated for 5 years in a row! But nooooooo, K had to go and ruin it all!

Why did Boozer have to go and get himself injured in 01, why? Sanders wasn't ready to play, yet he was forced into action and ruined it all!! No wait a minute, we won the title.

Mac they were only using a guy Boateng who obviously was not ready to make a contribution and K obviously held him back. Shame on you for bringing Sanders into it- he was on that natty winner! Time out for you Bossman!!!

This thread is for the Reggie Loves of the world!! Guys who arent ready! Wait, oh crap Reggie was on that same team in '01!!! K must have been delusional when he came to a post game presser and said "Reggie gave us a lift!" Friggin converted football player! Reggie may be our best player to work in The White House!

I counted about 9 players from other countries that have played at Duke. Ast, Hall, Marty, Deng, White, Vrank, Newton, Meagher and Boateng. OFC
