Didn't realize the youth on this team. Gets me excited for the future. Rogers should put up video game #s next year. What are our concerns next season? Trenches?

Yes, this team will have tons of eligibility left but any player can still go to the NFL after 3 years. Charles Cross gone for sure with years of eligibility left. You will have some guys leave, how many I don't know.

The majority of he play makers will be back for at least one and may up to three more years. We could have some good teams in the next few years.

This board is so schizophrenic. We win one game against a team that we’ve owned over the last decade and a half and now we’re back to wool.

These results are an inevitability of having Leach as the coach. It’s happened everywhere he’s been.

This is the truth. People need to calm down. We've got one group that is dug into being right about Leach's offense not working here and another that is talking NY6 bowls after we beat Kentucky. No room for middle ground.

I’ll be very interested to see how the portal plays out during the off-season. We’re inevitably gonna lose some depth guys like everyone else, but now that we’re another year into this thing, I’m curious as to how many we lose that are actually getting legit PT. My hope is obviously very few, but we’ll see…

Then of course the guys that Leach brings in will be critical too. It’s basically become the new JuCo pipeline

If you had been talking about the Vandy win, I’d be with you. After solid wins against NC State, A&M, and Kentucky though, I think there’s good reason to be optimistic even if we do lay another egg soon

No I’m a huge Leach fan. I’ve been a fan of him and his counter intuitive approach to a tradition riddled institution like football since his Kentucky days. But I’m also patient and confident in knowing that the results are an inevitability with this system. It just takes a couple years and it’s not a fluke. It’s proven over many years.

The guy is a winner. Period.

We've played 3 really good games out of our last 4, and the only stinker was against Alabama. You can look at the last at our last 8 games and say we are extremely inconsistent, and have played 4 good games and 4 pretty bad games. Or you can look at our last 8 games and say we were still figuring things out for the first half of them but we seem to have turned a corner now.

I'm leaning towards we have actually turned a corner. We'll know in another 4 games. Go 1-3 without any games where the offense just doesn't show up and we'll know we haven't really turned a corner but are still probably improved this year over last year. Go 2-2 and we're on the right track (my guess/hope). 3-1 will be reason to get really excited.

That is gonna be the sore spot. We will lose a couple more players but they won't really matter drastically. Replacing 3 linemen is gonna be rough. And this board is ridiculous. Wanted to fire Leach snd Cohen. We beat A&M and they are talking about beating Bama. Get crushed by Bama as usual and they wanna fire him again. Beat Kentucky and now we are gonna win out. I see 2 or 3 depending on injuries for OM. Maybe only one, but either way improvement is obvious to me. And yes...I am a Leach fan from way back

I don't necessarily disagree with you, and KY didn't cross my mind. You can start your own thread, and stop hi-jacking mine. I'm curious about our roster next year. You wanna have that discussion, or ridicule folks for being excited about the future and having a little optimism?

You may be right, but I'd like some input on next year's roster first. Thanks Dad

And as soon as they lose a game the New Years 6 people will be slitting their wrists and wanting Leach fired.

We've beaten 3 ranked teams and should have beaten LSU and Memphis. If you can't see how close we are, then sorry.

LT is really my only offensive concern next year, but it is a major one. If we can find someone on the roster, JUCO, or the portal who can give us competent LT play, I expect the offense to take another significant jump. He doesn’t have to be nearly Cross-level, just competent.

CB is another question mark, but if we can get the right JUCO and Richardson keeps progressing, I think we’ll be fine.

LT play next year could be the difference between another solid season or a really good season.

Good post. Anyone who's really studied Leach know he does the most with the least of any coach in America. The next closest one is Mullen IMO. But Mullen can country club too like he's doing this year.

Definitely the trenches with honorable mention to the safety position. Need to keep building on keeping our QB upright, getting better pressure on the opposition with our big boys, and shoring up the defensive backfield.

We have a good freshman safety, Richardson will be a good corner. We have DBs coming in for 21. Not sure who we have ready besides Ellington and Richardson. I think we lose 2 safeties and Emerson. Maybe just 1 safety. We need a LT, RT and center I'm pretty sure. Good everywhere else. Hard to say who has a year left and who doesn't. I think Peters, Green, Lashley and the center are out of eligibility. Percy Lewis is the juco left tackle we are suppose to get and I think we have a center and RT in house

Not really worried about the lineman, smaller quicker guys fit Leach's zone blocking schemes better anyway
