I know it’s been discussed, I just can’t figure out why Nebraska offered a scholarship to a Kansas quarterback but nothing to zane Flores a local kid with imo lots of upside
The key word in your post is "imo"I know it’s been discussed, I just can’t figure out why Nebraska offered a scholarship to a Kansas quarterback but nothing to zane Flores a local kid with imo lots of upside

The kid from Kansas is a stud. What is crazy is that it took us so long to offer.
Look at this kids offer list: ND, FSU, Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas, ASU, Ole Miss, TCU, etc, etc.
You can't figure out why we offered a kid with offers from nineteen P5 schools over a kid with zero P5 offers?I know it’s been discussed, I just can’t figure out why Nebraska offered a scholarship to a Kansas quarterback but nothing to zane Flores a local kid with imo lots of upside
He's very pretty.Got the Trevor Lawrence hair also, that can’t hurt.

I think it's a legitmate question but one that Whipple probably answered without specifically addressing it in his introductory press conference. Granted I think this decision was made before Whipple was hired, but I have no doubt that our coaching staff knows things about area kids that maybe even their parents don't know. Whipple made the point that when he goes to a kids school that he takes more stock in what he hears from the kid's teachers and counselors than his coach. They can see what the kid puts up on game video. There's something holding people back with Flores. Who knows if he had some social issues earlier in high school or has something else going on. Some of us were complete f ups as high school freshmen... I hope he has a lot of success wherever he lands.I know it’s been discussed, I just can’t figure out why Nebraska offered a scholarship to a Kansas quarterback but nothing to zane Flores a local kid with imo lots of upside
Thanks I admit I didn’t know anything about him and you read members writing about Zane we need to offer him so I added my two centsSeen the Johnson kid play...he's the deal
Perhaps Frost needs to summon manbearpig and make a deal with him to get Nebraska back to winning again.
I can remember a lot of kids that Osborne never went after that were highly rated. There was a kid in NY ( a 4* or 5*) and the writers, etc were asking Osborne if we are going after his kid they thought NU had to have.I think it's a legitmate question but one that Whipple probably answered without specifically addressing it in his introductory press conference. Did they all offer?I sure hope Frost knows what he is doing because Zane had coaches from K-State, Iowa St, Missouri, Minnesota & Wyoming looking at him this week. I know he’s not rated as high as others we are trying to get in on, but others are noticing him.
Tom looked at me back in the day....... Pretty sure he passed over me for the all-stater on our team and Jarvis Redwine at my position....Winking. Actually he passed over our TE too and that was a mistake IMO. He was a small college All American and probably should have taken the NFL up on his FA training camp invites. Went home to farm.I can remember a lot of kids that Osborne never went after that were highly rated. Osborne just said, "we looked at him on film and he's a great player but he doesn't fit in our system." End of discussion.
Now was he a bad student, not very coachable, maybe didn't like to block or couldn't catch the pitch on the run, or a bad actor, who knows? All I remember is when Tom said NU isn't going after him, that ended it.
Osborne missed on some kids, just like every other coach in history. But, he knew what he wanted and that was good enough for me.
He probably took one look at your beard and figured no way. lolTom looked at me back in the day....... Not to beat a dead horse, but Zane just posted in the past hour that he got an offer from K-State. I don’t know how to link Twitter, but his handle is @ZaneFlores12 so you can find it there. So there is definitely interest in him. Wish Frost would get in on him.
Edit- Never mind figured it out.

You were a way better poster under your previous namerelax, Frost knows what he is doing. No legitimate good qb will escape Nebraska recruiting by Frost. If Frost doesn't offer a schollie, than that means there is zero chance Flores will ever get a scholly by Minn or Iowa and end up beating Nebraska.

Iowa already has their 2023 QB.When Iowa schools offer him, heads will really explode.
So good to know. We were really concerned about Iowa's qb recruiting.Iowa already has their 2023 QB.
Got me!!!So good to know. We were really concerned about Iowa's qb recruiting.
They had gone hard after Torres and have been striking out on QBs. I think the Kansas kid has probably told them no thanks. It might be a good landing spot for Flores if he ends up there.Sure wouldn’t have much competition there
Is he better than what you have?Iowa already has their 2023 QB.
I look at it this way. If he’s not the answer, he’ll be in the portal soon enough. If he is the answer and goes somewhere else out of high school because Frost wasn’t worried about him 40 miles down the road. That’s something that’s hard to live down.so do we think Flores is NOT answer? Sorry, been worried about appliances and hoop wins...
I'm tired of the Scott Frost Charity Scholarship offers to the mediocre local kids. Seriously, who cares if Iowa state, Minnesota and Wyoming are looking at some local kid. Until this staff shows they can develop the local no-talent Uncle Ricos, reserve the scholarship for a worthy prospect.
Again, our coaches know more about Flores than we do. Passing on him might have nothing to do with his on field performance or physical tools. We have no idea what's going on with him. Sometimes it's better for a kid to get out of his immediate home town area to go to school. Does anybody really think that if Easton Stick had come to Nebraska that he would have gotten a shot at the NFL? It's especially tough for a QB to be a hero at your home school. Some of the very best players on our team are local product talent.
Who is more important for 2022 than Reimer and Henrich?
