Thats not really their job. They provide the go between - a buffer - so school and coach can each claim no contact/interest etc. And they also handle background vetting. Very rare that the search firm identifies candidates.
They are waiting on Sweeney to return with some names...
That's interesting because from the football search it was reported that the search firm provided Hobbs with a list of 6 potential candidates...one being Ash.
Search firms tailor their services to what the client wants. It might be beating the bush to scare up talent not on the radar. It also can include initial contacts and identifying interest, providing cover for clients or candidates, vetting and even negotiating. It is sort of a la carte and the client drives what they want to put on the outside firm.

I really love college athletics but can you imagine having your career based on the whims of 17 year old boys and the creeps that attach themselves to said immature guys?
Hard to believe this is true unless you are Kentucky or UCLA and know who you want. For There are simply too many possibilities out there for Hobbs to have come up with all the possible names. Of course, right now, our list honestly isn't all that exciting.
