The Baylor football program has had a tumultuous last 6 months marred by scandal and uncertainty. When Matt Rhule was hired at the beginning of December Baylor only had 1 verbal recruit for the 2017 recruiting class. We are 3 days away from signing day and they currently have 21 Commitments and their recruiting class is ranked 41st by 24/7 and 34th by rivals. Fluffer Holgorsen liked to tell us how the uncertainty around his contract situation was a big drag on recruiting. The Fluffer got his extension and Wvu is in the midst of its worst recruiting class in years. Currently ranked 57th in 24/7 which is behind the likes of Memphis. We are ranked 50th by rivals. We now know that the hoopla regarding contract uncertainties and recruiting was nothing but a crock. Can't even out recruit Baylor after a 10 win season and all the problems they've had is pretty pathetic to say the least. Nice going Fluffer Holgorsen.

Gee, let's see. Baylor is a school IN TEXAS, with nearly limitless resources, backed by a multinational corporation in the Baptist Church, and has shown willingness to do whatever it takes and spend whatever it takes to win.

WVU is in one of the absolute poorest states in the union, with fairly limited resources, backed by pretty much itself and a hospital (which is in reality just itself again), and so far hasn't committed itself (thankfully) to a win at any cost mentality.

I'd say the recruiting class is just fine.

Well tell me then how many Recruiting classes did Baylor have in the Briles era that were ranked in the top 25 After signing day? Answer 0. According to rivals Wvu recruiting classes have been rated higher than Baylor in 3 of the last 4 years after signing day. So much for that advantage of Texas recruiting that you claim. Where were all those endless resources you speak of before Briles came to Baylor? Baylor had 1 commitment a month ago, now they have 21. If you actually lived in Texas like myself you would know that Baylor has been a traditional door mat. They were nothing before Briles. You're just making pathetic excuses to try and explain Fluffer Holgorsen's failure on the recruiting trail in 2016-2017.

One, your puerile name calling is pathetic. His name is Dana. He is the coach of WVU football. He got an extension on his contract, so he's not going anywhere for a while. Deal with it.

Well if Baylor wins a national title then it will matter, cause 10 wins won't matter, only winning national titles right?

But it doesn't matter right? Holgs won't get any credit from you guys unless he wins a title!!
Well recruiting classes ranked in the 50's arent going to win titles right? When Luck hired Holgorsen he stated this was the guy to win us a title right? or did you forget about that part.

I didn't forget, but last time I checked, Baylor didn't win a title!! I'm pretty sure no one has ever hired a coach to not "win a title". Just trying to figure out what it would take, short of a title for some of you to be happy!! Obviously at least 11 wins correct? Or is it just Holgerson? If he wins 11 will you shut up? Just wanna understand your thinking!!

I can admit this to myself; WVU is never going to win a national title in football. That being said, what else was Luck supposed to say? He said the thing any AD of a P5 school is supposed to say when introducing a new head coach. If you feel as though promises were made then broken, go sulk about it in your "wonderful" Texas and root for someone else.

I never said Baylor won anything but the op's original point was they are out recruiting wvu in this years recruiting cycle after all the problems they have had off the field. Why hasn't a contract extension led to more recruiting stability? But if we had gone 7-5 you would make some of the same old excuses you have gone on about for the last 6 years.

Yeah but he fired a guy for going 9-3. The same standards should be applied to all. If Luck wasn't satisfied with gator bowls and Russel athletic bowls then Im not sure how Liberty and cactus bowls would have changed his thinking.

The Baylor administration has proven themselves to be a "win at all costs" athletic department. It started with the basketball program and the murder cover up, and has bled over to the football program since Briles was hired.

WVU doesn't do things that way, nor should they. Personally, I'd kick Baylor out of the Big 12 and add Houston.

My point is, what does recruiting class ranking mean if you're not winning titles? That's all that matter right? I've never once made any excuses, 7-5 would not have been acceptable in my opinion, but 10 wins shows improvement in my book!! Just not sure what you expect, we are what we are and what we've always been!!

Dallas newspaper said 52 rapes in 4 years. A female student who told a rape victim to tell police that her rape by three football players was consensual says she will now testify in court that an employee of the school sent her to the victim. Yeah, win all at costs.
