If there are 68 teams better than us, we shouldn't be in . . .

And I know there are what - 32 automatic invites?

And, please spare me the RPI's, the SOS's, and such.

Yes that's it simplified and in it's purest form might have been the intention. Then the human and political factors enter into the equation.

We can play ourselves in no doubt .. but how do you make the argument that we are as good or better than many NCAA teams when we are (I believe) 1-5 against tourney teams? We are also 1-4 against the top 6 in the BIG who is having a down year.

Win out and win a conf tourney game and we are in. Otherwise the out of conf SOS - something which we largely control - 255th is going to bite us. Can’t lose 4 out of conf games with that schedule.

Keep winning. We are good enough to be in the tourney we just don’t have a lot of objective things we can point to to make our case

Agreed. As I have said before you don’t have to like the criteria, but it is what it is. You can’t ignore it or pretend it doesn’t exist just because you don’t like it.
I also know the committee is there to give a qualitative review of quantitative data. If this was purely a numbers game, there would be no need for a committee.

Well of course they are there to do that. My point is to anyone who says Nebraska should be in, is look at those teams most brackets have above Nebraska and compare criteria. Right now it is hard to argue that Nebraska is more deserving of a spot in the dance over those teams, based on the committees criteria.

If Nebraska right now is truly the “first team out” I can live with that because we just have to have 1 team fall to get in. Nebraska can only control one thing right now, that is keep winning.

I think every other bubble team won today. We have to win out the regular season to even have a chance at an at-large bid.

I agree. And probably a win in conference tourney. Our biggest selling point is we are a hot team at the end of the year. However we cannot lost a game to end the regular season to a team that isn't going to the dance.

Sure would be nice if we could have one of the games against those team AT HOME! Oh wait, we did with one of those teams and we won it... 95% of the tournament teams would go 1-4 with the following 5 games

@ Purdue
@ Michigan St.
@ Ohio St.
@ Penn St.
Michigan

Quit acting like everything is equal, because the games against the Top 3 were all on the road and we didn't get a returned favor.

Probably correct but both the rpi and bpi have the big 12 as the top conference and the BIG 6th and 4th at present which doesn’t help us
The Big 10 is down... It is not down to the level of the MVC or the SWAC. Some of you don't know how to tell the difference. Winning at Northwestern and Wisconsin(something Purdue couldn't do) is still winning @ a Big 10 school. So I'm sorry for all of you that act like the RPI means everything, but Wisconsin and Northwestern are not Drake and Grambling St.

14-4 Big 10 is going to get in over a 7-11 SEC or Big 12 school whether you amazing brained mathematician think so or not at this point.

you are 100% correct everything isn't equal

a home win = 0.6 a neutral site win = 1.0 and an away win = 1.4 in the formula

fortunately the reverse is true as well an away loss isn't as bad as a home loss - but winning one of those road games would have helped more than beating one of those teams at home

these are part of the criteria - they are flawed and I'm not arguing I agree with them but they are what they are- our resume has to be good enough so when the eye ball test is applied we get in ... but right now we are asking the committee to put us in on the basis of one quality win - at home which diminishes it

we need a quality win in the conf tournament

Our record in the Big 10 is our resume booster... in my opinion that is going to go a long way if we do indeed win out. I heard some idiot call into Nick Bahe's show and brought up a Creighton team that finished with only 7 losses on the season in the MVC. They finished the season going 11-1 and went to the NIT. Ummm... The Missouri Valley is not the Big 10. These bone head comparisons to these mid major conferences is getting extremely irritating! As down as the Big 10 is we are still the 5th best conference according to Kenpom... The MVC is usually somewhere between 10-20 in conference rank. Anyone that compares the two is a hater, plain and simple!

Have some decaf, man. Just because everyone doesn't squeal with glee when Delaware State beats NJIT or turn cartwheels because Stetson beats Kennesaw State, it doesn't mean they have it in for the Huskers.

Some of us pay attention all year and don't bandwagon jump like you... If you were actually paying attention to anything I said it was Stetson not Delaware state

Yeh, I just recently started following Nebraska basketball....

Maybe someday I’ll earn my Johnny SuperFan cape by calculating the dramatic impact of Marist’s win over Saint Peters!
