Looking at that roster we have 3 seniors, 4 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 2 freshmen. Horne of course he will be a sophomore in 2018-19 also since he's redshirting his transfer year. That will give us 4 seniors, 3 juniors, and 3 sophomores for 2018-19. It will be interesting to see how many we sign in November.

The "0" and the "00" will never be on the court together unless Etou gets hurt and gets a medical hardship.

Big numbers have been taboo for some time. If you gave a guard #55 he might transfer that day. Now even the bigs want low numbers. Maybe they will make the Celtics #6 and 7 type numbers legal again if it weren't so confusing to the refs.

It's not confusing to the refs, it's the scorekeepers keeping track of fouls. The convention for refs at the NCAA level is that all numerals must be able to be signaled on a single hand. If you ever see an NCAA ref using 2 hands to signal a number to the scorer's table, they aren't using the correct mechanics.

Since the refs in the NBA are mere show pieces there to blow a whistle on every trip up the floor so someone gets to shoot foul shots, then it doesn't matter at that level.

Uh... that's not right. The convention for signaling is two hands for 6-15 A closed fist represents 10
Not in the NCAA...notice there are no digits greater than 5 in any number on the court. Signals should be given right hand only holding up the first digit followed by the 2nd (if there is one). Zero indicated by a closed fist. Watch an NCAA referee closely. (plus it is in the training video the NCAA uses).

Are we better than last year?
Yes much better.

Agree..We will be better at shooting guard (Scott, Joiner, Henderson), Better at wing
(Jeffries, Artison), and both of our freshmen centers from a year ago (Magnay, Igbanu)
will have had a year to develop further....We have returning starters at the other positions...

I'm hoping one of the surprises on this team will be Artison...He was injured most of last
year, but looked good late in the season.....I remember Schwartz, who I always felt was
a solid evaluator, was very high on him.....

Beautiful shot from perimeter, but stuck in John Cornwell mode with no inside presence desired at 6'9". Hope he develops contact desire for some inside play as well.

Valid points....I based my comments on the fact that late in the season, in
the last three or four games, he had shown some progress in that direction...
He certainly has the athleticism to mix it up, but also has to have the want-to...

You obviously can't play a weak rebounder at the three or the four positions
(or any place else on the team, for that matter).......

Agreed. With the maturity and extra experience, we should be much better. The key was that we didn't lose a lot of players from 2016-17. If Taplin can regain his touch, we will be very good. The entire league will also be improved imo. Minimum 5 teams in the dance.

I'm going to reserve my opinion on that until I see what kind of OOC us and the rest of the league play.
