61-53 Huskers. Trying to avoid the annual Tim Miles Mid-Major Christmas Break loss.

Huskers looking pretty good for the most part, though UTSA is hanging in there. I don't understand why Okeke gets yanked anytime he commits a foul. Hell, he was brought in to be a big body that bangs people around inside - I would be disappointed if he didn't pick up at least four fouls per game. I just don't see how the Huskers can survive Big Ten play without any big guys on the floor - and right now Jordy isn't progressing and Okeke can't get any playing time.

UTSA shooting over 80% in the second half from the field...Some of them WAY beyond NBA distance.

I think the issue is trying to guard UTSA's "bigs" on the perimeter with Okeke. Most people think our best lineup is with Roby at the 5.

Are we "jocking up" these guys? Sure seems like it.

Should say every radio sports jock I listen to...I think we put our best 5 on the floor with Robey too.
Roby is absolutely a better player than either Okeke or Tschimanga. But eventually you're going to need some post defense and someone to protect the rim.

He is talented, but fouls too much, struggles with on-ball D, and commits way too many turnovers.

These guys are throwing up garbage 3's and they keep going in.
They're not garbage 3's for these guys. That's the way they play and they are shooting in rhythm with good form. They're hot but they are also very good shooters.

That Jackson kid reminds me of the Glory Days of the old Big 8, when Hercle Ivy, Jerry Fort, Mike Evans, etc. would drop in 35 without even having a 3-point line. He even has the 'fro!

Anyone still want to complain about Gill being the kick-out option against KU? He is shooting great this year!

Apparently that's what Miles has been seeing in practice too I guess. I would have set somebody else up to shoot it but Gill is showing us this year what they saw last year in pre-season practice before the injury.

When's the last time our basketball team scored 100 points? That oughta be worth 2 free Runzas.
Kind of fun to watch and the result is going to be what I hoped for. This game scared me a little bit. USTA has taken several good teams to the wire.

FIFTY free throw attempts for the Huskers in this game. The way the calls typically go in Big Ten play, that will be about a month's worth.

We had a size advantage and they are a reaching slapping bunch for sure. In the B1G you better pack your Band-Aids because no blood, no foul...unless it's on NU.

I didn't watch the game at all, but the other team only shot 10 free throws to our 50? 12 fouls vs 31.

Holy crap! I bet their fans were pissed about the refs calling everything on them and nothing on us!

The refs hate Nebraska though!

If a Barry Collier coached team can get a hundred then Miles team should do that every week. Nice finish by the Big Red!

i watched the game and agree UTSA are a "slapping" bunch. i didn't see them complain much about all the fouls. saw a couple guys shake their head a couple times, but, that was about it. while huskers defense lagged a bit in that second half, UTSA shot some three's with defensive player practically right in their face and still sunk'em. not much you can do. just happy huskers pulled away at the end. take it and next up.

RPI is at 55, I'm going to just count the next two games as wins so that will put us at 10-5 with an RPI probably around 70(??) heading into the Big Ten schedule. 10-8 should be the goal and that will get us to 19-12 heading to NYC. Most years a .500 record in the Big 10 would probably get you in but probably not this year.
