The one thing that I just can't stand in baseball is the base on balls. Why are these guys pitchers if they cannot do the basic, fundamental thing a pitcher does and throw strikes? It's like a point guard who can't pass or a wide receiver who can't catch the ball.

I just don't get it. Why is it so hard for Koger to throw strikes? He should have been pumped for his chance to start against a team like Bellarmine. Should be no pressure or butterflies. He's pitched enough this season to be over that. He had to know that the last thing he can do is walk batters, yet he looked like a 2nd baseman trying to pitch. Makes no sense.
To be honest, he really hasn't pitched regularly enough. Not trying to make excuses but he was used to coming in relief and now he's a starter. He was probably pumped up and couldn't find the strike zone. It's baseball, it happens a lot.
