Ha. It wasn’t the devastating loss some are making it out to be. It was more like a blown opportunity that surely disappoints, but doesn’t affect our standing in the world.

But, we got swept at Arkansas earlier this year. How could we possibly be ranked ahead of them? **

That is fantastic. That means our stumble in game 3 was pretty much meaningless because there was no way we were going to jump vandy or UCLA even if we had swept. The loss might have an unintended benefit as I'm kinda itching for a match up with Vandy in the SECT. We pretty much owned the east this season but didn't play vandy. I'd like to see how well we do against them with one of our primary starters. Finishing 4th sets that potential up in round 2 instead of round 3.

I agree anything less than a 4 seed would be a travesty.

People were understandably upset that we missed out on an outright claim to the West title. But basically no single baseball loss is devastating. Especially not an SEC loss in a stretch where we go 5-1.

Not meaningless. Not crucial, but not meaningless. Cost us an outright SECW banner. Also, can't feel good about claiming a co-West championship since they took head-to-head. Nationally, makes no difference, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about winning the West outright.

Probably cost us a spot or two on the national seed line as well. With the win on Saturday we would have probably been no worse than the #3 national seed and the second national seed from the SEC behind Vandy. Now, we could be moved down to the 5 or 6 depending on how they view us in comparison to Georgia and Arkansas. We are technically now just the 4th place finisher in our own conference for whatever weight that carries.

It does. BA just didn't even change anything in the top 14 teams. Really, both of those polls are just plain lazy. Only difference is D1 just picked a random week to correct the over-ranking of Stanford all year this week.
