I think there would have been a lot of angst here about 4-8/2-6 in his first 2 years there. This year is obviously going well so far. He's having a good year early and I just leave it at that. Consistency is what I want and that can't be determined without the passage of more time. I will say that it does look like's developing something as opposed to mish mash over 3 years.

Took a look at his recruiting rankings at the Cuse and they were 54, 58, 64 and this year 79 but still not finished so nothing special. Like I've said most coaches are going to recruit to the tier of talent that corresponds with the status of the school they're at. It's the development and fit to system that differentiates one from another.

To be fair, the QB Dungey was already there. Although I think he has gotten hurt every year which contributed to their lack of wins.

I would love to have the Babers offense though.

That's great. But his personality certainly does not translate publicly
It's funny during his initial presser I remember comments here about he's out of central casting now he's drying paint lol. You guys should see Paul Chryst. I wasn't wowed by his presser nor do I think he's dull now. He's got a "normal" personality to me. There are things to ding him for but that to me isn't one and on top of which there are so many personalities in coaching and any one of them can fail or succeed, it doesn't matter.

Are you speaking only from press conferences or have you been in a setting to see him speak? Just wondering.

I have never heard him speak in person. But I have heard him speak live more than enough to get a fair read

Personality helps in every aspect of life. Period. Those who have it tend to do better than those who don't. Personality overcomes a lot of shortcomings. Can you succeed without it? Of course. But you better be really really good at the other things. Not sure that is the case with Ash.
