So TCU is officially, what, .......... the 65th or 69th best team in the country? Sorry, can't remember how many teams make the NCAA tournament.

Congratulations to TCU maybe they can build on that for next season. That way they will not be a drag on the BIG XII's RPI or whatever.

WVU has never lost to TCU in basketball. This could change next year. I hope not though.

Kudos, Horny Frogs!
Every Big 12 achievement helps WVU's image when we beat them.
Plus, TCU followed the example of another Big 12 member: WVU, except when the Mountaineers won the NIT in 1942 it was the #1 national title in America. The NCAA didn't surpass the NIT until later.

with the auto bids from lower leagues around the country, no the NCAA tourney has never had the best 68 teams.

but that's not what it's all about. and it'll never change.

as for 24-win TCU, there's no doubt they are one of top 68. even further than that. beat Ill State, I-State, K-State, Kansas, Iowa and many others.

Well, since the NCAA has its pick, yes. They don't go looking for the worst teams. Plus, I think the NCAA bough the NIT a while back, so yeah.

Surely you can't believe this. The auto bids that get South Dakota State and other lambs to slaughter water down the NCAA. There is a reason the "bubble" teams are rarely less than a 12 seed. KSU just made it in and got a play in at 12 seed. You don't think TCU would've been a 16 seed had they got in? Then again you didn't think the offensive inconsistency would hurt us in the tournament as it clearly did. The "clever" saying "no one wants to face the 10 pit Bulls and mad scientist on the stool" didn't pan out so well.

the Mountaineers won the NIT in 1942

I understand your comparison of the 1942 NIT as > the NCAA at the time, but let's not forget the 2007 NIT Champion Mountaineers.

That team with Da'Sean Butler, Joe Mazzulla, Wellington Smith, Cam Thoroughman and John Flowers, all as underclassmen, set the stage for 2010.
