Guessing it was a camp. Reports are he only had offers from lower division schools.

What a senseless tragedy.

If I've got the right story, just saw a tx judge reduced his bond and is home under house arrest since he's such a fine young man

It will be interesting how long it will take for this Fine young man to do something like this again. Because it will happen

They are buying a new house I think with the donated money he's received.
I read the prosecution is now in possession of a video taken by another student that shows the incident in its entirety. Allegedly it will invalidate the self defense claims, but the prosecution is taking the death sentence off the table. Interesting and sad at the same time.

I’m can’t imagine what the media feeding frenzy would be like if this was turned around. Something would burn.

It was never self defense to me when he brought a knife to a school event.

Now let me duck from my peers.

I think I first heard this last week or the week before on newsmax. At that time witnesses were saying it wasn't self defense

NY Post reporting that Anthony's family bought a new car and house with the donations they've received. Dispicable.

Not even for that reason.

Even the original story the kid told does not justify deadly force in self defense. And the eye witness accounts make it look even less so.

I don't think anyone with a modicum of understanding of self defense/deadly force law actually thinks this is a valid self defense case.

I moved back to Florida a year ago but have still many friends in Frisco.

1) It sounds like they (the defendant's family) are renting a house in a gated community and they bought at least one new vehicle. Residents in the neighborhood are not excited about the 'family' moving in and at least one resident has said they will invite the press into the neighborhood.

2) I am aware of a video that exists which shows the entire confrontation from beginning to end. It does portray a good look for the defendant.

3) There are rumors floating around that the defendant and the decedent had a previous altercation and the defendant made some poor choices with respect to his "choice of words" to the decedent.

The family representative said they did not know each other.

They still are charging him with murder. If the video didn't show that they would probably drop the charges.

Whatever the case the murderer raised a ton of defense donation money. And the family was living in a rented home worth $800 K so they couldn't have been too poor.

Maybe he could have just let the kid stay under his tent to avoid the rain 🤷‍♂️

Or the kid could have not brought a knife to track meet running his mouth cause he knew he had a weapon

If this was a safe space for black people all of a sudden Austin wouldn't belong in that place.

I don't want people from other schools in my tent either.

Raining or not. Go to your schools tent. We are competing.

Why would you have someone representing you that was accused of abusing a 2 year old child.

I smell grift.

Kid was wrong to be carrying a weapon.
Other kid was wrong (IMO) for not being a decent person and letting someone get out of the rain. Do unto others and all that.

And before you accuse me, I’m not saying anyone deserved to get stabbed.

the tents in question are where people store their personal belongings.

there have been reports, not saying its 100% accurate as its not yet confirmed, that the kid was moving tent to tent rifling through people's personal belongings.

No it's wrong to stab someone for kicking you out of their tent you had no business being in.

I heard Austin's dad went to the suspects press conference. They told him to leave so he stabbed them in the heart. Self defense right?
