Perhaps this has already been discussed here. But what I’m wondering is if Scott Frost is essentially on a one-year contract right now what type of assistant coaching talent is he going to be able to draw into Lincoln given the overall circumstances?

Pretty sure the Assistants will be given 2 year deals. So even if the program decides to move in a different direction, they'll get paid.

IMO they already know they are firing Scott Frost. They are going to hire the cheapest assistants they can find. Keeping Frost saved NU about $10 million in buyout and coaches salaries.

I do not believe this is the case at all. I guess we will find out, at least the assistants soon.

I just can’t see any assistant worth a dam joining Frost knowing he is 90% already fired after next season.

Well he isn't 90% fired, that is nonsense. If they win he is fine, if they don't he's gone. And coaching is a results business anyway, iff you do a bad job anywhere you are most likely getting canned.

I would think some, at least the OC, should be within a week of the season ending. After we see that one, we should have an idea how they are putting the puzzle together. My biggest question will be wether we hire a full-time special teams coach. It will require us to change some assignments, but seems essential.

Look at this stat. How many more games do we win this year if we have a guy like Sean Snyder coaching our special teams?

I’m fine with hiring a full time ST coach, as long as he has a good track record. I don’t want to hire someone and then Frost controls it again.
