Hill did a good job at East Meck. Lost a lot of close games to some really good teams. I thought they were the most physical team in the area.

I was told that a lot of players that go to an Ashbrook feeder middle school do not end up at Ashbrook but at a charter and another Gaston high school. Told this by a friend that taught in the county. Is that part of the issue?

I don't know if that is the case. There has always been plenty of talent. Loads of athlete's but no one has been able to build a team with that talent. The right coaching staff eventually will.

The charter school took maybe 2 or 3 kids from Ashbrook this year but the feeder school is grier and the kids split between Ashbrook and huss mostly but some others have made it to fhs

Only 1 player left Ashbrook to go to "the charter school". Huss and Forestview has picked up of a lot of talent from Ashbrook in the past 5 years. It's been common knowledge that the talent is there but has never taken shape. A good hire could turn around this program. They have a very talented feeder pool.
