Apple tv (latest one) &DTV

Does anyone here have the latest Apple TV and Directv? If so, curious if the new streaming app for live content has its own app on Apple TV or can you throw from your iPhone iPad etc via AirPlay to your TV? Trying to get around signing new equip contract.

I can air play anything from my phone to the Apple TV. All you have to do is mirror your phone.

Some apps disable airplay. I'm not sure if the DTV app is one of them.
