I’ve been in Green for many years (and like it … easy access and exit). This year I was “assigned” APC parking. Does anyone have experience with APC vs Green and benefits/drawbacks. I’m considering calling to switch back but thought I’d check first.

I was also put in APC this year. Is the parking deck considered a better lot?

Good Luck. I was in Green forever, and last year & this they stuck me in Yellow. My points have not gone down. was frustrating walking through green on way to the arena, and seeing it half full all the time! I don't think you have a choice to move back. They are trying to squeeze more money..

Any idea what the green cutoff was?
I got bumped down from Green to Yellow this year. My ticket reo told me that the PP cutoff this year was 175. I have 142 so something is not right. MY guess is they are increasing the amount of VIP parking they carve out of green so the result is they made the lot smaller.

The VIP lots were never full last year, not sure how much space they need for them.

Just to show you how crappy our giving levels are, I went up 150 places overall in the priority rankings despite dropping nearly 20 priority points (for some reason). I couldn't figure out what I did differently.

I park in APC. I love it. Never had an issue leaving. Come meet with some of us posters after each game for post game analysis. We close the place down so usually the last to leave the deck.

This explains why I could only get one APC pass with my 6 season tickets (I’ve been able to get 2 passes since it opened). Seemed ridiculous to me that I qualified for the lot but couldn’t get two passes with 6 seats.

Anyways I like the APC. It’s easy to park and quick to get into Jersey Mikes (they finally opened up the inside hallway so you can cut straight through).

Biggest downside is getting out. If there’s a sold out game that comes down to the wire expect to wait at least 20-30 minutes to get out.

O and make sure you back in!

I think my points are around 153 and got the green as before, and requested

175 would be an awfully high requirement
for green, I doubt that is the number

Edit: they also show a priority point snapshot tally, where I have 225 as the number
Never noticed the other way of priority figuring

After many years in Green I got bumped to APC. I wish my rep would have told me before the lot was assigned. I specifically sit across from the benches for easy access to the Green lot. Not a happy camper.

175 was the cutoff. I have 148. I got pushed to yellow. I've been in green since the FHJ days.

Is that 20-30 minutes after leaving as soon as the game ends and heading directly to your car?

I sit across from the visitor’s bench and usually linger for a bit (following wins I watch the Alma mater and the visitors walk of shame back to their locker room (I have awesome videos of Purdue and meeshegan sulking back to the locker room)). So I could easily burn 20 minutes getting to my vehicle. So I hope most traffic Lready cleared out.

No if it’s a sold out game that comes down to the wire I’ve sat in my car for a good 20-30 mins sometimes. But this is when I’ve parked on probably the 4th/5th level.

On the other hand, if you are one of the earlier ones to get to your car or park on one of the first levels you can zip out of the lot and be on Route 18 in a couple minutes.

That's exactly what I was thinking when I received that news. This is the result of the interest in this year. VIPs, scouts, various other hangers-on, etc.

You must get to the RAC early. I sometimes can't find a space in Green despite having a Green lot pass.

Typical RU Screw BS. Got booted out of Green with no communication that the points requirement were changed. Called my rep, and yes, threshold is now 175. But he also said it was for season tickets, coaches, families, etc. and that 99.8% of season ticket holders renewed. So I'm not exactly sure how the threshold went up by so much with the exact same universe of people. They are definitely just holding back spaces for "VIPs" or some other crap and kicking season ticket holders out (again). Same thing happened with football a while back.

Yup. Told the same thing, but it was never mentioned that the threshold went up.

Let me guess.. they told the people who were already above the threshold.. but those riding the bottom of the threshold they did not bother telling. Smart move.. cutthroat.. but smart... in the short term.

It's always short term with this place. Doesn't help that there is a rotating universe of ticket reps that don't communicate. I didn't know who my ticket rep was for a long time. Turns out it has been switched twice since FB season started. At least in Football you log in and it shows you the lot you requested, points and donations needed and then you can make the decision. They are 100% just holding Green lot spaces back or giving them to others around the system.

Smart=Douche move on their part. And as you said, smart in the short term. 28-year season ticketholder in both football and basketball and donor here. The fact that I was in Green to begin with means that I haven't exactly been a cheapskate to Rutgers Athletics over the years.

Lousy move but they just didn't have enough spots to accommodate us and the folks who will be passing through this year.

Can’t imagine how much this APC deck is going to suck this year. Was in green the last 10 years and was given no notice like everyone else in here.

The deck center was not open like other in here said it was so I might as well be in yellow if I am going to walk 10 mins to my car. Typically RU screw BS

I came in westbound on avenue e, which apparently does not work. Officer told me I had to go all the way around the lots to come in the other way, which would have made me miss a lot of the first half so I just parked in yellow with my apc pass.

Meanwhile hundreds of empty spots in the green lot 10 minutes before tip, not the vip lot just regular green. Good thing they moved us all out of there.

The APC center was open the end of last year, but it wasn't open Wednesday night.

There was a special event going on pregame for the big wigs. It will be open in the future,
Was not open after the game either. No one in APC but everyone had to walk all the way around to get to their cars. I already sent in my complaint.

You have to wonder who approved the design of the parking deck with no doors out on the side of the RAC. SMH

There wasn't one game that I went to last year where the vip lot or the green lot was close to being full.

We get to a lot of games after tip because of my kid's after school activities and the vip lot and the green lot were never close to being full last year.

Last night we got there right before halftime and it was the same thing. Tons of available spots in Green.

Rutgers is overthinking this season and screwing longtime fans and donors.

Yep.

They’re making decisions that have impacts on longtime fans and donors to make accommodations (most probably unnecessary) for one season.

Very short sighted thinking.
