Having The Mountaineers still in the AP top 25 poll with three important games left (possible B12 Title game) to be played is great. A lot of ups and downs so far this season. Coming into this season my expectations were for a 8-9 win regular season. I thought the defense would be at minimum in the top 30-40 overall. Same goes for special teams I was hoping for a vastly improved ST. The offense has been above my expectations and exciting to watch. Currently The Mountaineers are 6-3 at this stage of the season thought for sure we'd be 7-2. Of the three remaining games KSU and Texas are winnable games. As for the Oklahoma game The Mountaineers would need a flawless game to win so even though I'm hoping for a win I'm not expecting it.
Not Mountaineer related but something I find interesting is USF is 8-1 and only ranked at #22. In my opinion they are ranked a little low. There are a bunch of 7-2 teams ahead of them. Yea yea I know SOS and all that other subjective data that's used. It's possible that they could be a "Cinderella" team. But the way the system in football is setup the "Cinderella" scenario can never happen. It's possible in the NCAA basketball tournament but not the CFP. Too bad really, it would make for a great storyline.
