AP/Coaches Poll Week 12

UConn still outside the top 25. Was #11 for votes received outside the top 25 in AP poll and #8 in the coaches poll.

Hopefully a strong showing this week will get them into the top 25 next week. Have to come ready to play vs Cinci and UCF isn't a horrible team so they shouldn't overlook them

My take on the top 25 and teams just outside it based on what I have seen so far this year is that there is very little difference in teams 1-35 and there are some dangerous teams outside the top 25. I did read some national write ups on the UConn-Georgetown game with some interest, because all of us on this board are somewhat homer-ish in favor of UConn. The perception of the national media is that UConn is an NCAA tourney team but has underachieved relative to talent level to date. The ranking corresponds with that perception.

Final AP poll in 2014 UConn was #21. UConn beat final #1 Florida in the Final 4- rather decisively.

Kentucky wasn't even in the final top 25 and they made the NCAA championship game.

Note that championship game opponent Butler is not in top 25 and is just outside of top 25.
