I just don’t get the love for Shoop. I was at the Bowl Game. After a month of preparation, we had DBs that had no clue where to be. How is that not on the DC?

My initial reaction to this was not good, but he's my coach so I'll come around.

Staff is huge here. We gotta have a really strong staff on the defensive side of the ball and we've gotta get a Feld type in here too. And we better hire a **** ton of recruiters. If we do those things, hopefully it will work out.

And I thought I was the only one with a huge staff around here. Good to know.

Well when they're higher than Snoop and Willie that might have something to do with it. Bringing back some discipline is going to work wonders on a lot of this team.

I don't always agree with you but when I do it's this topic. My thoughts exactly. Personality is great. Style of play is concerning to say the least.

He had like one normal starter healthy in the entire defensive backfield and the suspensions screwed with chemistry. It's somewhat understandable.

Tough for the DC to coach people who don't go to practice. Or are playing with teammates kids if they do go.

Shoop has to go.

Way too many busted plays and players out of position. 2018 D-Line carried him.

He has to go.

If Leach wants any kind of decent success in the SEC he has to do whatever it takes to get good to elite Lineman. Take a page from what Jeremy Pruitt is doing in the trenches at Tennessee. He has to get a very good D-Coordinator and recruit and develop the O and D lines. Has to win there.

Leach's offense could not beat Washington (1-7 vs the Huskies with 7 straight losses)...his offense does the same thing every year...doesn't change. He could not compete versus the Huskies defense and never confused them.

His best Texas Tech team (2008 with Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree) edged Texas that year on a miracle ending but got destroyed by Oklahoma....and then later could not handle the physicality of the Houston Nutt Ole Miss team in the Cotton Bowl. Jumped out to a lead early but kept stumbling. Greg Hardy & Company were too much for his O-Line.

I hope he is able to pull in some very good recruits with a good staff.

I'm excited for something fresh (anything besides Moorhead) but am being cautiously optimistic. Sort of a "prove me wrong" mentality due to Leach never having a defense or very good guys in the trenches.

But Hail State. Welcome to Starkville Coach Leach.

As long as the coach gives a flying 17 about recruiting, we should be able to be a top 25-30 recruiter at worst. Dan hated it and still recruited in that range. Joe was bad coach but liked recruiting.

Leech has a lot of Mullen in him I think.

i think we need a fresh start. shoop was put in a bad situation all season, but its got to be a next man up mentality and our 2nd team secondary was completely lost after having a month to prepare.

Shoop is making a good living off of "being in a bad situation beyond his control."
