I was thinking that was going to be more than just a rolled ankle. Feel bad for the kid. But hey, we have had more than our fair share of injuries. At least this won't land them into the NIT.

Don't like IU or their fans; however, this guy was a pleasure to watch. Plays his heart out, and he's quite good. Hate it for him.

Same here...he's the 2nd IU player I've liked in the last 50* years...the other was Calbert Cheaney. Indefinitely doesn't necessarily mean the whole season...just implies they don't have a time frame in mind. Could be 3 weeks, could be 6 or .... They won't need him until Dec. 30 (against UL) anyways.

*I'm 50 yrs old

Can't stand IU or Crean but, again, not in favor of ever cheering for injuries to any players. Hope he recovers soon and gets back on the floor. Then I hope even more for IU to lose every game they play.

It was a strange play. He hung on the rim a bit but still landed awkwardly.

As we all know the term "sprained ankle" covers a lot of territory. With todays medical treatments and therapy you wouldn't expect it to take more than a few weeks. When I was young I had one that kept me limping for more than six months. Not fun. But, of course, that was back in the stone age when the only treatment was an occasional ice pack. Let's hope he heals and can make it back to help IU drop out early in the NCAAT.

Yes it was,I wondered at the time if he already knew he was injured and was hanging on the rim trying to figure out how to come down without hurting himself more.
That's what I was thinking too. Right when it happened I was thinking it was probably worse than a sprained ankle, like an achilles tear or something.

Hopefully not something that serious, but if you watch him land the ankle seems to give way too easily in spite of the fact that he was up there long enough to make sure of an in balance landing.

Sure, I hope it isn't either. And I'm certainly no doctor, but to me it looked like he injured it going up for the dunk, not when he landed.

I thought maybe he had a cramp or something when he went up, which led him to hanging on the rim. Later on the sideline they showed his ankle being iced though, so it must have been the landing.

The injury was hard to see because of the camera angle and people blocking the view. I slowed it down frame by frame to see what happened. It was pretty gruesome. He basically landed on the side of his foot it just rolled under.

I'm never happy or wish to see any young man get injured simply because he plays on a rival, or some other team I don't care for. I hope he gets well soon !
