NU suddenly has a loaded RB room after adding a young guy for depth and future years over the weekend and now adding former OU and FSU RB Gavin Sawchuk, a significant athlete with over 1,400 career yards and proven pass catching abikity

With Komo, Himon, and Sawchuk we have the potential for a three headed monster of complimentary skills that can test the box, the edge, and the entire 53 yards of the field. I hope we see a lot of 20/21 type looks à la the Mike Martz split back gun.

Love his name. Sawchuk just sounds like the kind of guy that can get through on a 4th and goal lol.

Did anyone ever see the composite photo of Sawchuk's face depicting the wounds/scars he accumulated as a maskless goalie. Terry died young(40) from internal injuries suffered "wrestling" a teammate after the 1970 season

There were a lot people doubting that we would be able to sign this guy. It looks like Chip's hit rate was pretty good for anyone we had in the building.

Yes - and check out Gary Cheever's mask - when men were men.

If we truly have a surfeit of RBs now, can any of them be converted to a speedy slot receiver?

Himon and Sawchuk are more “offensive weapons” than true “running backs.” I expect them to move around the formation a lot to get Kelly one thing he really prioritizes: positional versatility.

Komolafe and Porter are the “true running backs” on the roster. It’s pretty clearly the old two pair and a spare at the running back position.

I also think Morris is pretty darn good and could take on a bellcow role in a year or two.

Is Porter coming back? After the injuries, would think he would be ready to move on with his life. Especially with the emergence of Komolafe and the arrival of two new RBs plus and incoming HS RB recruit.
