HUNTINGTON - Marshall University assistant football coach for wide receivers Mike Furrey resigned his position to take a head coaching job at Limestone College.
Furrey will be announced as the Saints' new head coach at an 11 a.m. Wednesday news conference. Limestone College made the announcement official on the school's website Tuesday afternoon.
"We are absolutely thrilled to announce coach Furrey as our head football coach," said Mike Cerino, the Limestone vice president for intercollegiate athletics. "With his deep knowledge of the game and his understanding of what it means to be successful on the field, in the classroom and in the community, I know that he will continue to build the Limestone football program in all the right ways."

Where have I ever admitted to you not working on highways? I said that two years ago and have maintained that same argument. Within the last month, you confirmed on this board that you've worked on highways in three different states.

The two coordinators there, even two years ago, each made more than $100,000. The head coach at the time received more than $265k without bonuses. That doesn't include cars, etc. So, yes, some assistants do make more than you there. Their wives don't have to go stock magazines on shelves in order to help their husbands put food on the table.
But, my claim did not even take into consideration what I was paid from coaching. I haven't been paid for coaching in nearly two years, yet I've still made more than you over that time. I could never work again and make more each year than the average civil engineer's salary. How else do you think I can live where I do and do nothing but be on the beach every single day, all day? Don't get mad that my life is that much better than your daily grind. I worked harder, made better choices, had some luck, and was far more ingenuitive and intelligent than you.
