So I was looking for a particular AR in the local area the other day. Saw that on LGS had listed what I was looking for on their FB page the night before. So I ran over right when they opened and it was already sold. I Called another LGS (about 15 minutes away) and was told they had one in stock. So I drove to the store and as I was walking in it was being sold. Both stores where crazy busy and most people looking for handguns and ARs. Two things driving the business from what I heard from sales-people and customers - Christmas and fear of pending executive actions.

That's government for you always getting the reaction that they're trying to prevent (in this case possibly prevent).

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky animals, and you know it."

Kudos to the NRA for keeping the paranoia boiling and the gun sales rolling.

LOL...yes it couldn't be words from the WH that have people looking to buy now - “His commitment to using his authority had been there since that day in 2013,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said in an interview. “That’s when the president concluded that, unless there was a dramatic change in the political atmosphere, the only option was the administrative one.”

Right. It is the NRA who starts screaming gun control every time there is a shooting. Good stuff.

Right. So it's now been two years and still no "executive action." And how many mass shootings have we had since Newtown?

Actually they do. Every time there's a mass shooting Wayne LaPierre and his minions are out there warning about it.

Because they have to, because immediately after a shooting, before facts are even known, Obama and the like are out calling for "fixing our broken gun laws" or new control measures.

Hillary was right about gun owners needing another lobbyist. I think the NRA wavered once, and 2nd amendment people darn near gutted them. I think the NRA learned their lesson, but we could always use "another" lobby to look out for our guaranteed rights.

AND if I'm under fire or otherwise want to assault foes, I'll probably go with an assault rifle.

NRA didn't have to do anything. Obama has publicized his desire for executive action for over a year. Just like amnesty, all you have to do is mention it and the border is flooded.

I agree that the statements immediately following San Bernadino were right up there. But the friggin' NRA lost me forever with their callous pronouncements following Newtown. It convinced me that we'll never get anywhere on any kind of sane or meaningful gun control in this country -- if we can see babies slaughtered, there is no horror great enough to move us to action.

And aside from repealing the 2nd amendment there is no great action to take.
