on BTN “it’s January but Rutgers will make the NCAAs” and “I believe in this team”.
Just got home, visited with the wife and just turned on the TV to see Katz saying that. Nice. And I agree. We're good and capable of being very good. I could get used to this, especially when Cliff joins us next year - how cool was that chant and him getting up and waving to the crowd?

At Iowa- keep Myles on the floor to slow Garza. We have the perimeter D to harass their shooters again.

Michigan at the Garden. Crowd could be ours.

Maryland will be tough but they seem out of sorts, don't they?

At Ohio State... they are fading. Overrated outside of Kaleb?

At Wisconsin... we can defend these guys there.

At Penn State... we know we can match up with them, and maybe a lesser home court advantage than most.

At Purdue... well, that is a very tall order on senior day.

Really, it is a tough league to win on the road but we can steal a win or two somewhere along the way.

Katz has always seemed to be pro-RU. This NCAA tourney projection stuff just seems to get going earlier and earlier each year. Means little at this point. The one thing I will say is that it would appear this will be as wide open a tournament as there has been in quite some time.

Guys on Inside College Basketball on CBS Sports Network talked us up last night too. Spent a good amount of time talking about us. I think Gary Parrish and Wally Sczerbiak (sp??).

The announcers last night were saying The RAC is one of the best home court advantages

Coach Miller said pregame that last night would be his team's toughest game so far this season

Assign probabililtes to all those games and sum them up...you get a number closer to 2 than 1

By the same token, a loss that had me absolutely infuriated (well, it still does, but that's for emotional-fan reasons!) looks better and better every week. Well, maybe it's not right to say a loss looks "better," but it's certainly being mitigated with every game you guys win.

What a strange time to be alive.

The question is this:

Is Rutgers a top 64 team?

The answer is 100% Yes unless we go through a total collapse.

I think this team will win 19 or 20 games.

Ironic that instate rivals are actually helping each others image.

it looks like a throw back on TV. I always watch the highlights when I get home and it looks like the crowd is literally on top of the players. When the hell are they gonna pull the student section closer to the baseline?!

This is a good team that is well coached. It isn't a team that is stealing a few games. The defense has been there pretty much every night and the team beats their opposition into submission and has beaten Seton Hall, Wisconsin, Indiana, and others going away. As long as they bring their defensive intensity every game, they need to have a 'C' or better game offensively to win games.

Moving the student section will have to wait until after the season. I'm not sure what the impact is on wresting or the ability to hold tournaments at the RAC.

Ideally it would be something that adds a few more rows of seats, gets them closer to the court but still allows for the courtside seats and cheer/dance teams to set up.

chills guys. With each game passing and how the team is playing. I'm getting chills knowing this is a very very real chance of happening. In fact at this point, if we didn't make it, it might take a bit of a meltdown and bad luck.

But I've already started protecting that third week of March from any and all plannings and may have even looked at where the first round sites are and what flights could be !!! My god this is amazing.

Wasn't there once an RU BB coach who said he doesn't teach defense?

It was Coach Jordan after being outrebounded by more 20 in a game 2015 "I don't teach rebounding drills, it's not in my package as a coach. it's all about the will and desire to do it" or something to that effect. He should've been fired after that quote.

I can root for SHU. Can't root for PSU. Ever.

Edit - holy crap, had no idea they were 5-0 in the BE including a win at #5 Butler. Damn, they'll be back in the top 25 next week for sure, making that a very good win for us.

Articles like these are nice:
10 most surprising college basketball teams so far | Yardbarker
Rutgers

The Scarlet Knights, who last made the NCAA Tournament in 1991, might be the biggest surprise of the season. Rutgers improved to 12-3 after knocking off the 20th-ranked Nittany Lions on Tuesday, marking the program's best start since 1975-76. The Scarlet Knights have not had a winning season since 2005-06, but this seems like a pretty special bunch that has certainly turned some heads across the country. And they don't seem ready for the fun to end.

Thanks, missed that - thought it was odd they wouldn't be ranked before Butler - the could be 12-14 after that win and as long as they don't stumble at SJU.

Doesn't matter if anyone is a top 65 team with all the at-large and conference winners.

The debate is going to soon shift to what seed are we looking at in the NCAA tournament. Not only will we make the dance we will be the better seed the first game and make a run to the 16 at least is a very real probably.

Slow down bla bla bla from the same losers who thought this year we would be .500
