Andrew just hit a 1st pitch grand slam to put Dallas Baptist ahead of Oregon St 7-5 in the bottom of the 7th.

He transferred to a really good program. I think he got nervous about Binelas but he should have stuck it out.

Andrew Benefield hit a two out solo homer in the 7th that turned out to be the game winner, as Dallas Baptist beat Virginia 6-5 today.

I don’t see that he quit. Players transfer a lot - especially in baseball. In his case, it appeared he had plenty of talent though. Thus, it was strange why he bailed. If he had stayed I think he could have been successful at UofL.

Could have been not only for more playing time but also a better “deal” financially - ie, instead of a partial athletic scholarship at UofL, DBU may have been able to provide him with a full athletic scholarship or even a complete academic scholarship like Vanderbilt does.
