So ughhh, you guys know what goes on in Nola on Labor Day weekend right? If not I’ll fill you in...it’s called Southern Decadence. Over 200 thousand (or probably more) of the LGBQT community come to New Orleans and have parades and all kinds of stuff. One year I made the mistake of being down there (cause i didn’t know) during Labor Day weekend and it might’ve been the most uncomfortable I’ve ever been. I’m sure I’m opening myself to some jokes here, but there were dudes in assless chaps and the onsie swimsuit thong that Borat wears. I’ve always said I’d love for Msu to have a game in Nola.... but the last weekend in august is not ideal. Just thought I’d give a fair warning.
I’ve been amazed at how big of a deal this has been for some on this board. Generally, I would imagine that you’re only going to see this in bourbon street. I just can’t imagine skipping a game because you’re worried about seeing gay people.

This. I know several people not going because of the parade. Those people should really get out more.
What is the Team hotel?
Same reason I don’t go to the Egg Bowl in Oxford........not that there is anything wrong with that.
For those that are not attending the BDC event, where will everyone be going before and after the game? I’d like to be in the presence of dawgs instead of Cajuns.
My understanding is these events get a lot over the top. I'm fine with them having the event, but I'm also fine with anyone (me included) saying, that's not really something I want to see so I'll skip it. That said, the parades are in the French Quarter, so if I wanted to go to the game, I'd just stay away from that area and no big deal.
What are you talking about really? Just a few gays outside the French Quarter walking to or from the parades, or wild orgies in the streets? I think most MSU fans would be interested to know what it's like around the Superdome area that weekend.
