He's now playing Whipping Post with DuaneThat makes at least three original members dead. One of the great American bands.
If you want to get bang for your buck, select the 34 minute Mountain Jam if you see Eat a Peach in a bar jukebox. Not a bad song on that entire album. Greg Allman was just 25 years old when that masterpiece was released and 21 or 22 when he wrote Whipping Post.Seems like they made the 5 minute song feel like 3, at least that's how I remember them. They had some classics that will never go out of style.
Yesterday my wife and I were on our way home from the gym and we had some 80's station playing and some goofy song came on that was #1 back in the day and we both joked about how some music doesn't stand the test of time and we wonder how we ever liked it to start with. Allman Bros. still sounds as good to me today as it did 20 years ago.
the reason for the album title - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eat_a_Peach'eat a peach'.....maybe my favorite album title ever, for no real clandestine reason....
Yes, The 80s songs don't hold up like the 70s. For instance, who could ever forget Afternoon Delight?Seems like they made the 5 minute song feel like 3, at least that's how I remember them. They had some classics that will never go out of style.

It's good, but my vote is for "Waiting for Columbus" by Little Feat.Very sad. The Allman Brothers Live at Fillmore East may be the greatest live rock album ever.
