On a lighter topic, these lob plays, which we seemed to fumble so often last year, have become legitimate scoring plays for us this season.

Last year I made the comment that “we alley but we don’t oop,” and I wondered why Pike continued to allow his players to try it. Well, lo and behold, this season those plays are working, and they’ve helped to ignite the home crowd which in turn has helped to elevate the play of our team.

Yet another thing that Pike was patient about, that has paid dividends.

Saying a team can't do alley oops is like saying they shouldn't shoot. It's a legit scoring play. See the last one with Montez and Harper. That is the only way you score that ball.

I love the play. I loved it last year too except our guys had trouble executing it, and it often seemed forced. Glad they got it cleaned up, and we have lots of high flyers that can catch and flush the rock, the way it’s meant to be.

Harpers alley oop from the purdue game was incredible. Hes on the floor saving a loose ball from going out of bounds. His teammates getting floorburns to recover the ball as he sprints down the court to sneak behind defenders for the ally oop. So much to like about that play.

In many respects that was the play/sequence of the year. Remember, it started with Myles blocking a shot, then Harper with the save...etc.
