You mean how their whole career went in college, or how they played against Rutgers?

Because if it is the latter, I am including Lowes Moore of West Virginia. I think he just hit another acrobatic shot against us......

Best of Luck,
Groz

How many players from the Dream Team played against RU in college. Bird, Jordan, Mullen, I think we never played Georgetown when Ewing was there.

We beat Georgetown easily in both the 1978 & 1979 postseasons, but things went in opposite directions after that with them getting in Big East right away..we did play against Iverson, I believe in mid 90s

Earl Boykins was probably the shortest future NBA player we played against (Eastern Michigan)..The giant Center from BYU was the biggest (we played them at MSG) trying to recall name

James Worthy and Sam Perkins on that team too, a decent college basketball roster

1977 North Carolina Team we played in the Garden(lost 74-57) was also decent. LOL

Phi Ford
John Kuester
Dudley Bradley
Walter Davis
Mike O'Koren(future RU coach. LOL)
Tommy Lagarde
Rich Yonakor

I remember coming out of our locker room and there was Dean Smith smoking in the corridor. Dean was a chain smoker.

Best of Luck,
Groz

Was too young to get to see Walt Frazier play against Rutgers in NIT
UCONN had a bunch of notable players ranging from Tony Hanson in ‘76 to Kemba Walker ‘11, and a bunch in between...
and as mentioned Marques Johnson (aka Raymond) also played against us in the ‘76 tournament

Almost forgot - Reggie Theus UNLV 1977..i was at game at spectrum. We only lost by 1. I remember thinking we should have played that way at Spectrum the year before. That was a great UNLV team, they went to the final 4

He didn't play against Rutgers to my knowledge

first game in the garden for Jordan was December 1981...

we were 5-1, After beating UCLA and frosh Chris Mullen and aand it was the final four game all over again against Michigan...as every shot we took rolled around the rim in a 15-20
Point loss to the eventual national champs

This is not the best of who we played,, just games that you watched and cringed when you needed to get a stop on defense and these players wound up with the ball.....they would take and make timely shots either to stop momentum or at the end of a shot clock.

Mark Macon (Temple)
Carl Krausner (Pitt)
Jimmy Butler (Marquette)
D'Angelo Harrison (St John's)
Anthony Peeler (Missouri)

Way too many to get it down to 5. Best team we played was the 1991 defending champs Larry Johnson UNLV team that destroyed our last team to play in the tournament. That game was nationally televised on ABC .

I have been at the RAC every year since it opened and I think Mark Macon was the most talented freshman we ever played there. Chaney did a terrible job developing him. Chris Mullen also made quite the immediate impression.

Re: impressive frosh that played at the RAC and looked the part even as pups, two come to mind: Jameer Nelson at Joe's and Gary Neal at La Salle.

RU also played against the father of the one of the Best NBA players ever (Joe Bryant. Lasalle 1975)..I was also at that game, which I think was the greatest turnaround/comeback ever for RU. At #14 Lasalle, in final 10 minutes, RU turned 15 point deficit into 14 point victory!..Mike Dabney was the leading scorer in that game, and in an interesting note - is the father of one of the best WNBA players ever...

I remember how we all gathered around to watch this game because we were never on TV. ABC wound up switching out to another game because it was such a rout. We lost 115-73 to the team with Larry Johnson, Greg Anthony and Stacey Augmon. The next year we beat a very different team led by Isaiah Rider at the RAC in what is still the loudest game of any kind I've ever attended.

Yes too be fair that UNLV team destroyed everyone . It was a shocker they lost to duke in the final 4 after killing them the year before in the championship game .

Recently, (Relatively) I thought D'Angelo Russell was as pure a shooter as I have ever seen at the RAC. Mullen and Houston probably top two. I didn't get to see Larry Bird NIT game. Louie Orr is up there. John Battle of course. That's my Top 5. I don't remember UConn guys really going off against RU from outside.
