Waiting for the second half to start the posts of fire Monty. Dropped passes. Thuggery. Our massive penalties Our man in an empty suit and nepotism. Anyone agree when Cincy wins by 30 in the end.

i just wonder why some of you think us "negative posters" want to be negative? we just want to be good and compete. look how empty skelly is, that speaks for itself. Tulsa always waits until the damage to the fan base is at a all time low before making changes. we keep this up then it wont be long before football at TU goes away.

Many of the negative posters just come across as obsessed and crazy. They’re not going to fire the coach during the game and most likely not during the season either.

I really think that several have an irrational fear that the team is going to somehow win 6 games, get to a minor bowl and the coach will get extended. Better get rid of him now before that happens.

I have far more important things to worry about than that.

Nearly all these “ negative “ posters want the very best for TU athletics. I have seen them post here for 20 years and they are rock solid fans. They know when changes need to be made. I am glad to listen to their comments. Don’t always agree but glad they are our fans and care.

I’ve called for 3 football coaches to be fired since being a TU fan. Dave, Burns and blank… Monty now makes 4… all coaches I thought stayed a year longer then I wanted. Monty in my opinion should have been fired after the fight followed by being the number 1 penalized team in the nation. Just shows no control and lack of discipline. The fight was embarrassing to the university.

Uncalled for really. Constructive criticism whether I like it or not, I have no problem with. Not everyone agrees with my point of view and that’s ok because we look at things differently. I will disagree that some just want them to “do well and compete”. Some may but some of them would complain about everything even if we were sitting at 9-0 this year. Those are the ones I have issues with and you know we have them.

Yes, there is a big difference between constructive opinions and our Saturday afternoon drive-by’s who only come to complain, then state they are “done” but never leave.

I agree with this. Luckily for me basketball season starts on Tuesday so most of my time will be over there.

Are you going to be doing the NET stats again ?
Yes I will. Just finished my spreadsheet last week. The NET won’t come out till probably around the second week of December. I might have last years NET on the November games as a point of reference.

Many of you COMPLETELY MISS the point of a fan message board general chat.... to vent. That is what I do as I watch the school I love throw opportunity after opportunity down the toilet on many levels both in athletics and academics.

The "constructive criticism" expectations actually made me laugh out loud and I had to explain to my wife why. I "constructively" stopped my GHC and season ticket purchases after two decades last year. I did not buy my normal 50 allotment of tickets for troops for the Navy game this year.

I post on here infrequently, only when my caring for the University of Tulsa goes through a death spasm...

I believe some of you might have missed the purpose of a fan message board general chat. The general chat is not just to vent. It is to vent your frustrations but actually have a conversation. There is a difference between venting and being douchey. I, have issues with that portion. This is the last I will say on it as those who choose to do that, I ignore for the most part. Those are also the ones that drive away those that actually have a conversation and share actual thoughts. I keep most of my ranting off of here as I just dont feel it necessary.

Problem is there is nothing new to say so hard to converse. Even my posts about deja vu are becoming redundant.

I understand that sentiment and I find myself in that spot at times. I have to go to bed as I get old now. lol

We will never know if people would complain if we were 9-0.

its a good thing we did not score at the end of the game and then won.

big difference in the bowl money cincy gets, and our share.

Monty may kept his job.

On the radio broadcast, some outfit around Tulsa named Oklahoma Disaster Restoration pays to sponsor the coin toss. I don't think they're referring to OU or OSU.

I don't think the "negative" posters literally expected Rick to storm into the locker room at halftime and yell at Phil "get the hell out and never come back, and give me your keys on the way out!". I think "now" was more figurative. Though it would have been a totally badass way to tell the world that TU is DONE with subpar coaching.

I doubt many are on the fence about Monty, and one good game or half wouldn't matter for most people's opinions.

LOL, I think there are people who would like it, or at least not oppose it. But I don't think they EXPECT it, which was my point. TUGrad06 can speak for themselves, but I suspect the post was aspirational and the poster didn't actually think that they might convince TU to do a halftime firing.
