One of the Tallahassee 5 was committed for like 2 days and then decommited IIRC, (not Muy).

If we can count the supposed silent commits like Lamar Jackson, Stringfellow and Jason Pierre-Paul, the list would be more impressive. Most the high profile guys I can think of came when Riley and Callahan got canned.

Trevor Robinson
Dan Hoch
Blaine Gabbert
Jonas Gray
Bookie
Chase Williams
Josh Moore

Bo had a few like:

Dion Jones
Eddie Brown
Charles Jackson

Bo had a LB from Louisiana who eventually flipped to LSU who is still a really good NFL player. Can't think of his name.

We probably can count Emmitt Smith here because the coaches expected him to be a husker.

Jamire Calvin should get some kind of special recognition on the team. I remember Riley saying that he committed and decommitted three times. He finally signed with Washington State at the last minute.

Carl Crawford fo shizzle.

Not 100% sure he fits here, but he was comitted.
I was going to post this. While not technically a de commit, Crawford playing QB at Nebraska could have changed things for Frank, big time. Same with Bubba Starling at QB and Monte Harrison at WR, for Bo.

this man definitely earns the most commitments and de commitments from one play in a single recruiting class. Wow, that was just stupid how bad it got.

Was Noel Devine ever actually committed to Nebraska? Or did he just string out his announcement and pick West Virginia when the time came?

He never committed to us. Very similar to Darius Walker who committed to Notre Dame. We raved about their highlight film but they never committed.

The Blaine Gabbert one is still a kick in the nuts. Our first ever 5 star QB commit and we lost him once we fired Callahan. Part of me wanted to keep Callahan one more year so we signed Gabbert.

Bryce Givens was another Top 100 player we lost that year when Callahan was canned.

That 2008 class could have been something, especially on offense. Hoch and Robinson were both NFL OL and Steinkuhler would have been a very good OL. Gabbert played in the NFL. Jonas Gray was a very good RB at ND. There was also a fast WR that had a good career at Cincinnati.

No doubt, at the time when Callahan was fired we had a Top 3 to Top 5 class going on. Hell, we had 4 or 5 Top 100 players and multiple 5 star commitments.

I don't think it is a stretch to say we may have contended for a natty had Blaine honored his commitment, with that nasty D we would have supported him with. Blaine's decommit hurt bad.

Back in the good old days, players would sign a conference letter of intent the week before national signing day. So sometimes a player would sign with us and a week later sign a national letter of intent somewhere else. The national letter of intent was the one that ultimately counted, but once a player signed a conference letter of intent they usually stayed with that school. Back then, I'm talking 70's-mid 80's, recruiting was mostly regional.

One player that comes to mind from that era is Kenneth Davis, a RB who signed with us but then choose TCU the following week. Davis went on to become an All-American and played for some really good Bills teams for about six years.

yea we might have done something in 2009 with him, like win the Big 12 CCG but wasn’t his little brother on our team about that time too..

He pulled the same decommit and go to Mizzou his older brother did.
