I believe this comes out in a couple of weeks. Who do you guys think will make the list? Will Mayfield or boykin be first team? From our offense I would guess Shepard is a lock along with perine. On D I'm sure striker makes 1st team.

Maybe Walker but several of the other defensive tackles are playing good as well.

Well, Sanchez will likely make first team on D. Of course that will probably lead to more 5 page pissing matches, so there's that.

Mayfield should land first team. Big 12 Champion, leading in passer rating and efficiency, and ranked top 5 in the country.

Perine should be a lock for first. Mixon may be in for second. Flowers second team?

Shepard first team is a no brainer. After that, Neal? Westbrook? It's too bad Andrews didn't get more opportunities. That guy is the best OU TE since Gresham.

Striker is a no brainer.

Maybe Jordan Thomas? Parker? May see one or both. Tapper is a possibility as is Walker and Dimon on DL. Not sure on other LBs.

Kicker is a possibility.

Good thread for discussion and hopefully a non-pissing match.

I think Dom Alexander is a lock for 1st team LB along with Striker. Sanchez as well. Almost every other contributor on defense outside of Johnson, Ward and Overton could get 2nd and 3rd team consideration.

And I'll continue to beat the "Charles Walker is a badass" drum.

Bcs I didn't mention Sanchez because of being out a couple of games and playing injured as well. Hopefully they won't hold that against him

It'd be insane to leave out a guy that had 3 defensive player of the week awards and only played 10 weeks.

First team from OU will only be these guys:
Mayfield, Perine, Shepard, Sanchez, Striker

Others may be deserving, but they're not going to make an all conference team with just OU players. That's bad PR.

I agree jcon but who knows. He deserves recognition. What about j Thomas?

Thomas is probably one of the top 4 cbs in the conference, but they won't include him because
#1) they already have an OU CB
#2) he's still too fresh.. regardless of criteria, voters are going to make him earn it with more than one incomplete season. They're going to reward upper classmen that have done it year in and year out
