From looking at their matches and common opponents it will be an upset of almost epic proportions if we lose a match. However, just to see Chandler back in action is enough for me to attend. In recent dual with UNI here were the matchups.
125 Jay Schwarm defeated Sidney Flores of Air Force 10-0
133 Tony Decesare of Air Force def. Skudlarcyk 4-2
141 Josh Albers defeated Garrett O'Shea of Air Force 5-0
149 Thomsen defeated Tommy Stager Air Force 19-1
157 Alex Mossing Air Force def. Schoenfelder 6-5
165 Bryce Steiert def. Marcus Amico Air Force 16-0 tf
174 Taylor Lujuan 19-4 tf over Randy Meneweather Air Force
184 Drew Foster 15-5 md over Jake Thompson Air Force
197 Tyler Gordon def Casey Jumps Air Force 8-2
285 Kaine Hutchinson Air Force def. Isaac Shedenhelm 9-6

Bahl wins 4-3. My gut feeling is they wanted to give Bahl a chance to wrestle.

PW wins 2-0
White won by pin, Piccinini won by decision ( not his best match gave up 2 takedowns) Fix won by tech mostly back points, Kaid won by major, Gfeller won but had a very tough time with his opponents legs and road out the second period, Sheets got a major and looked pretty good.

Looked like Gfeller pulled a muscle to me. Seen him 2 or 3 times putting his hand on his rib cage stretch and winch. Did again after the match. You could see the 3rd period was much more defensive and wasn’t attacking like he was the first 2 periods. Seemed to be just trying to hang on and close the match fortunately he was up something like 10-3 at the time.

I thought the same. Looked like he didn't want to make it worse by going all out for the escape or reversal.

Sheets had a tech fall and looked VERY good. Hopefully, the light has dawned and based on his last 3-4 matches I believe it has. Both Chandler and Preston looked very rusty. Chandler, in particular had trouble with timing, strength and was gassed at the end. I am concerned about Kaden as we have the two toughest matches coming up in the next couple of weeks and we need him in the lineup. I do not know why Joe did not wrestle but my guess is that John wanted to reward Bahl.

I thought G looked like he had a bruised rib. Those are very painful, but heal in about seven days, but you have to stay away from bruising them again. Very painful, but heel quickly. Hope whatever it is he heels quickly.

Interesting comments from John after Air Force. Jacobe back to 74, geer back to 84, and jojo/chandler duel to see who wins 65.

In my opinion over the last 3 matches I’ve seen, Sheets has wrestled the toughest most inspired matches then anyone on the team. He has been in really close matches but has given the most consistent effort from the whistle.

I am looking for the interview. This is very good to hear. Not sure who wins at 174, but that team should preform better at Nationals. Pretty sure Chandler and Preston will get their game back before Big 12's.

Geer down to 184 and Jacobe to 174, Smith was specific about, he hedged some on whether the battle would be Chandler/Joe at 165 or Jacobe/Joe at 174. I assume Shomers will go down to 157 as well. Oklahoma State's seeds at nationals will likely not reflect potential in a lot of cases with the weight moves and inactivity, but this is a lineup with second place potential and a lot of dangerous wrestlers.

I thought this was possibly when Joe weihed in around 172-173 pounds last week for a dual.

I think if Joe can manage the weight he is a major threat at 165.

John mentioned the descent rules so I have to believe they have it worked out. 1.5% a week with 4 weeks to go before the Big 12 tournament.

So, if Geer weighed 195.4, he can get to 184. Everyone else can make it even if they had last weighed in at the max for the weight above. It does make the Missouri and Iowa duals weird, though. I'm not sure who we will see where. We may see Joe and Jacobe wrestle up, but weigh in closer to the lower weight.

Yeah kind've worried about those last two duals. On paper they are tossups, but if G is dinged up & is John willing to throw an under weight Joe against Lewis? Dont think the lighter weight hurts as much against Iowa.

Joe could be at awful close to 165 for Iowa I think.

I think everyone knows John's mentality which is push hard at the end of the season and if we lose to Iowa so be it.It is more important to wrestle well at the Big 12 and Nationals. Of course, for seeding purposes we do not want to lose top up matches between two ranked wrestlers in the top 8. IMO the way Joe has wrestled at 174 does not bode well for him against Daniel Lewis at Missouri but time will tell. I like Geer moving to 184 and Jacobe moving to 174. Sucks for Chandler if he loses the wrestle-off at 165. One of those 3 AA's will be left out. Joe has one more year but this is it for Jacobe and Chandler.

I agree. He seems to have developed some new low level leg attacks as well. In HS, I only remember him having that fireman's carry.

I agree. I think Joe not weighing in yesterday was probably less about giving Bahl an opportunity and more about Joe not having an official weigh in with the descent rules.

If he weighed in 172.5 last week, he could be under 170 now and then be at 165 for Iowa.

Geer is who I would worry about, 13 lbs. is quite a jump before conference tournament. Can't imagine he could wrestle before that

For UNI, Dakota weighed in @ 194 & Jacobe weighed in @ 182.5. So based on the descent rules (1.5% / week) neither would be allowed to drop down until Big12s. Joe was @ 172.3 for UNI, so he was close enough that he can go 165 for Iowa if he wants to.

There's certainly some risk dropping down this late in the year. Jacobe told Roger Moore that the best thing about 184 was he had a lot more energy due to not cutting. Still, I like the moves. I think it puts everyone at their best weight and they can sort it out with ranking matches.
