I don't know how the real ins and outs of the commit process work, but perhaps his commit was contingent upon availability of a spot that closed up once the higher rated kids said yes.Weird, but maybe good?

Doesn't bother me. Recruits can decommit at any time. I don't see why coaches can't do the same.Could be. I think I'm on record of not liking to see kids offers pulled, but if our coaches were always upfront about stuff, than if it was offered and pulled based on better commits than its ultimately a good thing for us.
Frost did say that they made decisions on who to take and who not to take all the way up to signing day, and that character and fit were part of the equation. I'm not sure if Aho, Hodge, or Coates were a concern or not, but when given comparable choices between A, B or C... I would take a higher character kid who is a hard worker.Noticed Aho is no longer listed as a commit. Is he gone? Sorry if already discussed!
plan Bs that didn't come in to play. I believe that their offers were premised with "depending on if we have room". It would have been nice to add Johnson to the linebacker class but I think he would have been one more than they were planning to take when it was all said and done. Interestingly I read an article on the Badger Rivals site breaking down their impact guys and then the guys they felt were undervalued and they didn't even mention Johnson.Frost did say that they made decisions on who to take and who not to take all the way up to signing day, and that character and fit were part of the equation. Kinda weird that both Aho and Hodge committed on the same day and in the end neither was given a scholarship.
Hard to say. Payne silently committed in early December, but still wanted to take another recruiting visit to NC State. If we noticed right, it seemed like Aho wasn’t committed anymore and shortly after Payne was and signed. I’m starting to wonder if Payne took Ahos spot?
