WVU is still playing for something. Whether you like Dana or not he deserves some credit for that.

Some of Nehlen's teams would have folded like a cheap tent

Yeah but not all losses are equal. The 4 teams WVU lost to are now a combined 36-3. Oklahoma appears to me like they'll win out. They typically own Bedlam.

Only real bad loss in there to me was vs OK State (and they're undefeated, so how is it really bad). Could have and probably should have won at home. That's why they play the games I guess.

Keeping from falling apart, after four straight losses definitely took some good leadership...

Beating a bad Texas/very bad road team Texas is turning things around!!! lol You are wondering IF we get past Iowa State......the fact that you worry about a 3-7 Iowa State team tells you A. how low Dana has taken this program and B. how low your expectations now are for our program!!!!!

Yeah, that terrible Iowa State team that took the #4 team in the country down to the wire.

Texas is an extremely talented team. They successfully recruit the best of the best every year. Any time you beat Texas you get a gold star. Some folks don't want to understand. In addition, Iowa State is a top flight team this year. Throw their record out the window. They can hang with the best. So can the Mountaineers. That being said, for WV to win out would be a major accomplishment.

Agreed. Rest of the season will be a dog fight. On a side note, we have some knuckledraggers on the board who are strictly focused on a witch hunt and fail to enjoy the season for what it is.

if anyone's on a witch hunt, it's those who troll Don Nehlen. when all else fails, troll Don Nehlen. that'll show em.

tear apart the program you root for & downplay all accomplishments to make it seem like we are where we want to be. 5-4, 7th place.

it's the work of Nehlen, Stewart & Rodriguez that got us into the BXII in the first place.

Texas is loaded with twice our talent and down year or not, they are one of the big names in college football. Beating them is good. When did beating the University of Texas in Morgantown become a shoulder-shrug victory? A few years ago, this would have been a mega, fans-go-nuts moment.

We just have bad fans. Lots of Wal-Marters who serve no purpose. Anyone can sit on a couch while watching a football game with a beer in their hand.

Expectations for WVU football are at an all time high. I guess credit goes to Dana?

If you want my support, you better win every game by 50.

They played a major role, especially Nehlen and Rod. But our university leaders knew how important football was to our future and we invested into the program early and they were able to do it because our students and alumni supported the teams.

WVU backs its programs. We get coaches who succeed because we show that commitment.

lol....Iowa state sucks....the mud hens beat them...If you had watched the game then you would have seen that the Pokes was playing touch football in the first half..they clearly didn't show up to play early on but as it goes with good coaching, their coach lit a fire under their arse and they played they way they should have after that........but I'm pretty sure many of you nitwit Danapologist watch or know very little about football other than the WVU game you watch while gumming your apple sauce

Who expects to lose to Iowa State? I haven't heard or read anyone saying such a thing - just you.

I think we beat Iowa State.

Expectations are at an all time high. Wal-Mart fans expect Dana to win every game, blowout style.

Nothing impresses the t-shirters anymore. They paid good money for those t-shirts, hooded sweatshirts and pullovers. We're talking $39.95. You don't drop that kind of coin without expecting big wins - every week.

Well, you are right about one thing. I did not see the Iowa State game Saturday. Can you guess why? Because I was at the WVU game and then driving home after enjoying a celebratory beer. You enjoy sitting on your couch watching the game on TV, loser.

He's the dumbest poster on this board. Iowa State looked good. They have improved as the season has went along and they played very well on Saturday.

The 96 team quit after the Miami game. This team appears to have heart. If they finish 9-4 it's a great year.

I've been trying to say this as well! Living in Pittsburgh I know the expectations for WVU, Pitt and Penn St are beyond crazy! Penn St sucks and I hope they lose every game but WVU and Pitt aren't in the Big East anymore! A 9 win season by both is an excellent year! As frustrating as it is October only told us WVU is not a top 15-20 team this year. Nothing more. October didn't indicate WVU was bad. Look at what WVU did to Maryland. Maryland has been in most of their Big Ten games. That tells me WVU can compete very consistantly in that 15-30 ranking area.

All I'm saying is WVU was at a crossroads at 4-4 and it takes a good coach and coaching staff to keep a team together after a 4 game stretch like that.

You could see against Texas Tech last week and Texas this week that this team is still focused and working to get better.

There is zero quit in this team and that comes directly from the head coach.

I question if some of these Dana haters even understand college football at all.

A 8 or 9 win season in the Big12 is not mediocrity. 8-9 win seasons in the post Miami, VT Big East is mediocrity, unless it's your First Year as a head coach and you win a BCS bowl.

you are expecting "the challenged" to understand? These people think the big east was equal or better than the Big 12. Lol
