He was actually on the MSU baseball roster very briefly before Ron Polk realized that he was on the football team and was black.

Polk: Hey, Tommy, did you realize that the CF was a (blazing saddles)?

Raffo: What did Polk say?

McNickle: He said that the CF was near.

Polk: No dadgum blagdat I said that the CF was a (blazing saddles).

he started 2 black outfielders on his UGA CWS team. I honestly don't believe the man is racist. I do very much believe he's never gone out of his way to recruit black players though, but he has recruited a few over the years. The vast majority of them went pro though.

It's a long running joke but some people take it too seriously.

Of course, if the looked at the rest of the SEC rosters, it's not much different than our roster under Polk.

The Adron Chambers episode was pretty embarrassing. Hated to lose him, he looked like a decent prospect with some speed we needed badly at the time.

He did have a nice interception in overtime at UAB that helped us win our first game of the year in 2006 I believe.
