As always the beat writers/ the hoard are usually behind social media, but one of them  finally put out an article....and with his astute insight ;) ....he does share the key point.

"Meanwhile, Sanogo’s departure will give Donovan Clingan , who is returning as a sophomore next season, the chance to play full-time."

Smart to leave the door open. I think it’s 50/50 he returns. Although Samson Johnson returning was telling.

Despite the ESPN copy and paste job / leaving the door open...it doesn't sound like returning is part of his thought process, mainly the way Adama himself posted it on IG..... And like you said on Johnson plus how would Clingan feel about being a back up again?

Both the CT writers seem to suggest it's final:
NHR- "Sanogo, a junior, will forgo his remaining college eligibility and enter the NBA Draft."
Courant- "Sanogo could have opted to return to UConn, or transfer out, but given the NBA’s emphasis on age, it’s doubtful his stock would rise with another college season. If he does not make an NBA roster he can continue is development in the G League or overseas" ( PS.. Adama did come to Uconn a year early from HS)
