Virginia scores least points in tournament in twenty-plus years and gets blown out by Florida.

3 seed FSU gets blown out by plus twenty points to 11 seed Xavier

Notre Dame (are they ACC? ) loses big to WVU.

And Syracuse (ha,ha) loses in NIT

Arkansas might give UNC-CHeat some problems. Anderson has had success upsetting 1 seeds from this position and CHeat is likely going to be missing one of its primary ball handlers.

Virginia is a classic case of a one dimensional defensive team that excels during the regular season but in one and done tournament play, opponents with shooters expose their offensive woes.

11 seed was Xavier

Saw it coming...ACC over seeded and B1G under-seeded.

ACC always gets credit for losing to their own in regular season. Always has. Talk about a win-win.

Florida's best shooters did not shoot well. They got points from everyone though.

Florida is very good defensively. They were tired of hearing how good Virginia was on D & wanted to prove something last night...at least that's what a few of them told me.

ACC doesn't blow, but it has always been top heavy. Traditionally, it was only Duke and UNC at the top and then everyone else. Now Louisville arguably has joined them. But performance in the Tournament this year shows that their coat tails were way too long. ESPN hyped the entire conference and the Committee bought in. No doubt that the the Big10 lacks a clear No. 1 seed type team this year, but its depth appears to be just as good as the ACC, yet Iowa was left home with a record that would have been rewarded with a bid in the ACC.

Ok.. "ACC Blows" is a hyperbole but makes a good headline...plus I always enjoy making fun of them..half-of them "old" Big East...So maybe more Big East than Big East..and ESPN lapdog

Here is my question - How does one resolve the awful performance in this year's tournaments (NCAA and NIT) with last year's domination (6 of Final 16; 4 of Final 8, 2 of Final 4)? Sort of similar to SEC Bowl performances the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.

And now that Louisville is out by virtue of that lowly B1G team Michigan beating them, it looks like once again the ACC was overrated. And yes I know Duke and UNC can still win it all, but I think the ACC was rewarded too much and their other teams received to high of seeds in the brackets. Meanwhile, the B1G as of now (Michigan St. has yet to play) are sending three teams to the Sweet Sixteen. Nice.

This is an epic failure....they got "easier" matchups they didn't take advantage of...and they got s major oversees advantage

I suppose ESPN will start previewing the baseball season a little earlier now that all the teams they hype (except UNC) are gone.

I think the issue with the rpi for all these conferences is that it is so weighed toward OOC games and the first two months so that automatically ranks the conferences by Jan 1 and that does not change during conference play. I think some conferences like the ACC and even the Big East seem better equipped to start the year knocking off other teams...we see it every year. Big 10 usually on the slow side to get its legs so they tend to be rated behind the others. Sure it differs some year to year but ACC is able to use this rpi stuff to have this super SOS for its league members, it is used so much that schools that were under 500 in league and near .500 overall like Pitt, Clemson and Ga Tech were considered bubble teams in the last week or two of regular season....so its saying our conference is so strong that you can overlook going 6-12 in league play

Like to see other metrics brought into play. There was no excuses that Wisconsin was a 8 seed when they finished 2nd in the Big 10...thats a worse seed that schools like Dayton and Seton Hall and how would Maryland be a 6 over them. Too much reliance on SOS and not common sense

Dukie V will come out with his top 5 for next year and you can lay money on it Puke & NC will be in his top 5 as always.

Should the RPI not look at out of conference play in assessing conferences? It should look at in-conference play when assessing conferences?

Went from last to first, since end of 1st round, thanks to the ACC!

...and 2 of 10 have lost their champ while the guy behind me has me runner-up.

This morning..Mike and Mike...Golic asks Vitake - "was ACC over-rated?".. he hems and haws..you need to look at the totality of the season, he says.
