This year, April 24th it will be at New Bern High School. I’ve done security in the past for the event and my friend is trying to get us in for this one, Grayson, Pinson and Berry at this one. Hope it all works out. The last one I did locker room security and got to hang out with Ryan Kelly, Mason Plumlee , Dexter Strickland and Phil Ford. It was a blast.

I'm disappointed though, just found out VIP tickets are gone and I really wanted to take my nephew and hopefully meet Grayson, but we are still going.

I have made two....few years back in Farmville, met Mason and Kelly.....and last year in Greenville, met Amile, Nolan, Kennard.....good time, pictures and autographs........tarheels were in abundance last year, but it was great seeing all the Dukies as well...........right from the get go, a promoter?(tarheel) had to tell the crowd how to act concerning our guys

I got to take my nephew to the local event tonight. What a great time. My nephew was standing on the sideline while Grayson was warming up trying to get him to wave and Grayson finally seen him and waved. It made his night. Then out of no where my nephew got my sharpie and just decided to run out on the court while they were still standing around and asked Grayson to sign his Jersey. Talk about about a little boy on cloud nine, I know I was. So at halftime Grayson walks out to the concession room and has a table full of game shoes, shirts, etc. that was signed but wasn't signing autographs, but I did get to tell him thanks for four great years and that in a few weeks my first born was going to be here and we were naming him Grayson after him. He got a kick out of that and shook my hand and said that was awesome and congrats. Nolan Smith also showed up and played, and after the game my nephew got his picture with him and got his Jersey signed by him as well, I told Nolan to get Carter back and he just smiled and said I sure hope so. It was really special night with my nephew.

I did laugh when they introduced the coach, Phil Ford, as the greatest point guard to play in the ACC

Are you going to the event in Asheville? I believe its next Saturday. I have contemplated it.

Its one of my cousins 16th birthday and I kinda feel bad for not going to it so I'm not sure yet! I was thinking about it more last night though after you put this up. If you go let me know

Sucks Mark and I didn't land this gig. The promoter was tight with my buddy but has turned a lot of it over to his son now.

They have been playing these things for years. I remember seeing Brook Steppe from Ga Tech in a dink contest he should have won it they gave it to Thurl Bailey. Steppe had some damn hops.

You would think with all the technology on the iPhone, dink would have been autocorrected to dunk. Guess I should review first. LOL!

Had the chance to call tonight's event at Hunter Huss High in Gastonia on the radio. Grayson was unable to attend because he had just signed with an agent and was flying out to California for an NBA workout. His fill in tonight to make sure Duke was represented was Nolan Smith. Entertaining night.

Nolan put on a great show last week. He looked like a kid out there.

Was Grayson booed by the UNC crowd?
No actually the promoter came out before the thing started and explained to people that this was a family event and these guys have better things to do than be there but came to put on a show and they didn't want any players from any teams to be booed. He said they had one guy that liked doing g these events but kept getting booed and stopped coming. There were probably 85% Tarheel fans there and Grayson wasn't booed at all. In fact there were just as many people wanting his autograph as there was Joel Berry's

He was booed at Hunter Huss event and plenty of anti Grayson shirts. Our sideline guy did and interview with Berry and Pinson and he asked about Grayson. They both said they missed him being there and Berry talked about how they were good friends. My daughter purchased a Team Grayson shirt and the lady working the table said in the time she's been doing this, Grayson was one of the nicest young men you could meet. Nolan seemed to have a great time with the younger guys. One of the high school players, a young man from kings mountain, played with the ACC team. His first basket was a dunk off of a lob from Nolan. That got the place going.

What's the team Grayson shirt look like? Does anyone know if these guys can make money off this event selling stuff?

I got one of the shirts last week when I get home I'll post a pic. One lady told me that each guy gets $2000 per event but I dont know if its accurate. When I met him and just watched him there, he was the one smiling the most and having fun. I bought a team grayson shirt to wear at the hospital when my son is born since we are naming him Grayson, my wife rolled her eyes.

I wondered and expected that these no-life Unc followers would continue their hate for a guy who played hard, was an exemplary student and person off the court, and never hurt anyone. Someday their children will be working for Grayson and calling him Mr. Allen sir.

Nah probably not their kids won't be good enough to play for coach Allen ;)

The shame is my 15 year old daughter said as she was buying the shirt, "Dad, I'm gonna catch a lot of grief wearing this to school." Of course we talked again about how some UNC fans are a special kind of stupid.
Yea I was actually nervous about taking my nephew last week, I felt for sure I was going to end up in an argument in front of my nephew. I was thankful everything went great.
It is sad how far the stupidity goes with unc fans. My nephew is in the third grade and he wore a Duke shirt to school a couple weeks ago and a bunch of arrogant kids were picking on him and asking him if he was going to trip them and blah blah. He came home really sad.

And what's really sad is....they probably learned it from their stupid father's, too.
