Erwin impressed on def . Shelby couldn’t move ball much but neither could Erwin both scored on a couple big plays . Murphy seemed to have better team overall than Asheville . This is the smallest Asheville team I can remember. Asheville’s def struggled all night. Murphy has good looking qb. Reynolds / Franklin got started late watched a couple series. Rockets loaded with athletes. Franklin will be a good team by mid season . Jmo

Asheville was better team when played all starters. Scored on O the whole night. and was in Murphy back field most the night. That being said that was when Asheville starters was in, which half go both ways Which I can see why they didn’t look good most the time on D because of backups in. And that’s with three year starter MLB not dressed out and starting RB. Murphy was what we expected. Shelby looked good in the two 10 play series vs Erwin. It was a miss match. Wasn’t until they played with chains when Erwin decided to play. ACR looked sluggish at times. Franklin looks to be tough once again
Q.b. didn’t have alot of time to throw lots of drops and early throws because of pressure. As for oposite of what I wrote... I saw what I saw( no rose colored glasses) don’t know who starts or didn’t play. And I think Shelby players and fans would disagree with your mismatch comment. Jmo
Murphy is young and inexperienced at QB, WR and o-line and usually play lots of guys in scrimmages. Dont see them showing much of there hand anyway since they play Franklin week 2. I'm sure Asheville kept it conservative and played a lot of there guys as well. It's decent practice reps for these teams, nothing more. I am encouraged to hear Murphy QB looked solid though, this is his first year playing QB at any level.

Its early, shelbys weak point is its line play.
We lost one offense lineman maybe broke leg tonight. Coach Ware will go back to work and get it going.
Coach Pruitt is a childhood friend, and hes said he could have a really good ball club this year.

Here my two cents worth. Thought all three games were pretty good.Erwin did look bad until the regular games rules .Shelby QB had a lot of passes dropped that should have been caught, could have been because of the weather. Murphy did all right against a bigger and better team.Should be a really good game next week in Canton. Franklin surprised me after everyone saying they are down this year. Reynolds certainly outplayed them but they can do that to any team in the mountains.
I don't know why Franklin being better than expected would surprise anyone, they have one of the best coaching staffs in the state.

Hearing good things coming out of canton. I know the sophomore QB, remember him when he was 5,6 years old. If he had stayed in Asheville he was in ACR district.
Same here. I was happy with my Warriors once they started playing for real. They seemed intimidated by Shelby at first.
I didn't see Shelby last season but they looked like a typical Shelby team. Athletes everywhere and confident. Very good defensively. They will be a handful again
They looked good to me but im biased. You have to look at who they were playing and realize it's one of the best teams in the state regardless if class. They looked bad at first but really picked up later. They looked much better then last last season at this time for sure.
Agree Erwin look solid, all the teams look solid except asheville ,whats the deal at the high?

I didn't get to see Asheville much. Just a few plays. I can just comment on Erwin and Reynolds and both looked pretty solid.
