Aaron Rogers to the Niners?

Watching Cowherd over lunch, he made a pretty compelling case for it. I don't hate it. Rogers said he'd play for 10mil, Brock gonna cost ya mid fifties....I guess the question is, are the Niners a better QB away from a title? Cause at least with Brock you have a guy for 8 more years....hate to sign a guy for just one year if you don't win a title and he walks away after the season.

Prolly won't happen, but I don't hate the idea.

No offense to Rogers but the last few times I saw him play he looked old and tired. Maybe he has one more in him, will the reward outweigh the risks?

He can’t scramble outside the pocket like he used to and you can tell his calf muscle on the injured leg is dilapidated, hindering his ability to plant his feet. Even with a usually stout 49ers defense, I see 10 wins max with him at QB.

I think 49ers are a legit Super Bowl contender next year. Too many injuries last year and CMC was down all year basically. If A-Aron Rod- Gers wants another shot at the ring, it’s here not black and yellow

I was never a big Purdy guy but if you look at his stats, he's a top 10 qb. I wouldn't be in the mood to give that up from a guy his age.

Yeah but his take on Cowherd ain’t wrong.
Cowherd is a radio troll. I don't dislike him as entertainment, but he's just looking for the hot-take no matter how unbased. I listen to him here and there because I think he has good guests.

Are you willing to pay Purdy $50 million plus? I think that would be a mistake. Give him at most a Baker Mayfield contract in the mid $30 million range.

They are signing Purdy to a long-term deal. Now if you had both that is some good insurance for an entire year because in today's NFL they are going to get injured and miss time most likely.

Now would Rogers sit and wait? Doubt it.

Brock is probably going to get his asking price....but he isn't worth it and the Niners are not going to win anything unless they hit the lottery on all of their draft picks for the next several years.

I've read Purdy wants a $50 million/year contract.
Dak Prescott, Trevor Lawrence, Tua Turndabalova, and Justin Herbert are all making in excess of $50MM/year

There's maybe 1 of those guys I'd rather have

I think it's time to put this "you can't have a QB on a max contract if you wanna win a SB" myth to bed.

You have to go all the way back to 2014 to find a QB on a rookie contract winning a SB.

Nobody says that. What they do say is you can't massively overpay an average QB #1 QB money and expect to win a title. Brock needs help, he ain't Allen, Mahomes, Brady, etc etc....and you can't get him the help he needs if he's chewing up 50-55mil a season.

Lots of people do, actually. It's the underlying sentiment behind not wanting to follow the QB market.

It wasn't that long ago that people were freaking out over Flacco signing a $20MM/year deal after winning the SB. $50MM will be nothing in a few years, and they should consider it a bargain if he does want to sign for that considering he's sandwiched between Adrian Martinez (lol) and Sam Ehlinger for salary at the moment.

How many SB wins do any of the guys you list have? I think it is pure lunacy to pay Purdy $55 million/year. (I still think Herbert is vastly overrated. He had one great game in a Rose Bowl, and he has been living off that since. Every time he needs to win a game with the Chargers he folds faster than a hand towel. I look to see Harbaugh move away from him after this year if he continues to stumble)

I’m a Herbert fan but he REALLY needs some help on that team. The guy is extremely talented and IMO the big game issues are directly related to holes in their roster.
