Damn y’all. I was negative also but let me remind you where we are and what we have in front of us. We lost. Ugly but no matter if it’s 8-2, 2-1 4-3. It’s still a loss. They played well pitched their ace. Time for us to step up and whip their cocky asses. Now I met a few nice Vandy fans but 17 them most are arrogant. Time we step up and press the final level. If we don’t, as disappointed I will be I’ll know we were in the finals. No other team in the country can say that. Remember greatness. But let also call the ultimate final run. We win this 17er. Yep. Lock it believe it!!!!

I don’t see the task of winning the next two as any taller than going 2-0 to start the CWS when you consider the caliber of arms we faced and one could argue better lineups.

Believe it or not, I’m still feeling good & optimistic. The season relies on Harding, Bednar & Sims now. Our bats have shown we can hang in a close game. This team has the heart & fight.

All we need in my opinion is goose eggs through first 4 innings. Let’s be honest, that’s all we would have got from Mc last night even if he had ‘it’ last night. Harding will be better tonight & he has to be.

I think we put up runs tonight, if we don’t, this season was still a success & I’m proud. I didn’t think this team would make it out of the regionals with some of the late regular season losses. This team wants this as much as we all do, I assure you.

I didn't think we would win yesterday but was hoping we could pull one out of the hat. I fully expect to win today. Then Bednar vs Rocker tomorrow and we ride to the natty.

Take away the first - we gave up 1 run. We had more runners on base than they did after the first. We didn't burn Preston Johnson or Landon Sims. Like someone said in a group chat, losing 3-2 probably would have been worse than 8-2 where we would have used arms.

It was closer than it could have been and we had a huge pitching disadvantage

After the 1st inning disaster, scraping together an inning or 2 from each from bullpen guys played just as good as Leiter and Maldonado. We showed some patience at the plate, and squared up a few balls that found gloves.

We should have a huge pitching advantage today. We'll likely be sending out the sweatiest man in Omaha to face off against a 17 year old. Then, if he's had enough rest (no guarantee) Bednar vs Rocker for all the marbles.

Hail Damn State.

MSU fans need to get there early, get loud as hell, stay loud as hell, and help this team win... If we win tonight, ANYTHING can happen. I feel very good about a game 3 with Bednar on the hill.

Tonight is the night. The ESPN announcers were remarking how "quiet 25K fans were". If you travelled all that way, paid through the teeth for tickets, you need to be loud and rowdy from the first pitch to the last out....

Go Dawgs: one of the top two teams in the country - scratching and clawing to be #1... THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS PULLING FOR MSU, everyone hates how NC State was hosed, how the NCAA & ESPN delayed the start of last night's game to protect Leiter, and who knows what shenanigans we will see tonight.

Is Vandy starting that 17 year old? That’s interesting. He pitched against OM in the SECT and he’s got ridiculous stuff. Not that that surprises anyone. He’s got a wipeout slider and looks an awful lot like Kumar Rocker, at times. But, he doesn’t have the endurance, and certainly hasn’t pitched on a stage like this. If you told me he threw 6 innings of 3 hit baseball, I’d believe you. And if you said MSU chased him in the 2nd inning, I’d believe it. Vandy doesn’t have the bullpen depth that y’all do. So that kids performance will, obviously, be the deciding factor.

You know you’ll get a solid outing from Harding. He will throw strikes and let his defense and that big park work for him. I like yalls chances tonight.

You have a point. At least it was not one of those heart breaking losses like Arkansas 2018 Game 2, or Florida 2011 Game 1, that beats you twice. We should be able to recover from this and come out and play tomorrow without moping.

Haven't you said before that you do not care that much about baseball? If so, that's good I think because you're giving us a better perspective without emotion. Tends to make me slightly more positive, because from my vantagepoint, it looks like we're going against a damn flawless fielding/pitching team who cannot be penetrated, like 2013 UCLA.

I figured game 1 would be rough after the free pass handed to them by the glorious NCAA, but I had small hope that Mac would reach down and give us a deserving farewell performance to remember. Well he gave one to remember alright and the game was over before the 2nd inning. The first inning was nearly an hour!!! I looked at the time and thought i was in a time warp. My S/O and her sister have already abandoned the game and are stalking ppl they know on FB by now, and her 15 year old son left the TV room yelling "Who the heck is whistling........This is so stupid"? (Arkansas fans.......they can not even make it thru an inning of our torture).

But today is a new day and I am ready. I am supposed to be working right now but to hell with all that mess. We need a trophy darn it!!!!

Vandy was good tonight in the field but they are not even close to that 2013 UCLA team. I think they’ve made about 7 errors this tournament. Go watch the first half of the Vandy/Stanford game.

On the mound Leiter is an all time great, Rocker is elite, they have a few really good arms out of the pen, but not much depth. We just need to challenge them and compete. It is a really tough road from here, but this thing isn’t over.

The way I see it, we've got about 6 pitchers we can depend on to get us through the next 18 innings. I think today is a Hootie, Johnson, Sims day. Then Wednesday you've got Bednar and the whole pen available - but I probably trust the Smiths more than anyone else at this point. Stinnett is almost guaranteed to put at least one guy on. Patrick may get you one or two outs. Simmons has looked bad in both postseason appearances. There's no one else I want to see on the mound today or Wednesday.

Need to get a big lead today and save Sims as long as possible.

I get that so many state fans are so vicious and negative. Desperation for a Natty will do that do you, particularly when we've been so deserving in the past. This team may pull it out. But it will be nothing short of a miracle.... but would we really want it any other way?

It's going to be much more satisfying pulling out these last two games. And when they do, I hope all the haters in our own damn fanbase will feel at least some sense of shame for all their ugly posts and comments.

Mac had to come out dealing last night and he didn't, leaving the coaching staff to figure out how they are going to manage the rest of the series. Trust 'em. They got us here with a team that lacks elite hitters and consistent starters. With the exception of Sims (as a closer) all of our pitchers have been less than consistent. We're damn lucky to be in this series and we can still win it.

Try to enjoy these next two games.

I’m callling Dabrule and Clark for attaboy tonight. Scotty works the count for 9 pitches for a walk, Cumbest first pitch fastball for a long fly to move him, Clark gets one and the starter gets pulled.

Somewhat lost in last nights performance, because you lost, is that Lemonis and Foxhall (sp?) did a pretty amazing job managing that game and bullpen. Besides Patrick no one threw over an inning, right? Meaning literally the entire pen is still available for games 2 and 3. They can most definitely throw back to back days after only throwing an inning.

And the fact that your bullpen gave up 1 run in the 8.1 innings after the 3-run HR, using multiple arms, has to inspire some confidence. Vandy had been struggling offensively all postseason, and save for that monster punch in the 1st, they struggled last night. I think you can realistically win the national championship by scoring 5-6 runs in 2 straight games. You know Sims is ready for extended innings tonight, if needed. And you know Bednar will lay it all on the line tomorrow, if he gets the opportunity. Obviously you don’t want to lose Game 1, but that game was a must-win for Vandy, it wasn’t for MSU.

I’m still pissed out of my mind but there are some positives for today and

hopefully tomorrow. Start Harding today and hope he gets you thru 5 at least. Preston Johnson is fresh. Stone Simmons is fresh. Sims is ready to go. Brandon Smith didn’t throw too much last night. Cade Smith didn’t throw too much. They handled the bullpen perfectly last night allowing these guys to all be fresh. All that said, Sims is what got you here. You put it on his back today as soon as needed no matter the inning.
