I have not felt this optimistic about our program for about 5 years. I’m glad Cal saw the writing on the wall and did the right thing by moving on, even if it was a couple/few years late.
Whoever we get will need to do a total rebuild, which is ok as long as we hire the right guy for the job.
We may not be a contender next year, but at least the program is no longer being held hostage by recruiting promises, the inability to change/adapt, atrocious in-game coaching and a full staff of highly-paid yes-men.
Mitch, please redeem yourself with a home run hire, it’s not too late.
