Actually, I would love to see Jackson get good. It would be good for the surrounding area and the state. I just can't conceive of how that might happen given the current situation. It would take the accidental election of extraordinary leadership from top to bottom to get it accomplished, because the current populous is most likely to continue to vote for the same folks that have had them in the ditch for decades. I'm imagining some post-election unveiling only rivaled by the end of a Scooby Doo episode when the mask is pulled off and we all find out that the criminal wasn't really Freddy after all, only in reverse, where the good guy impersonated the criminal to get elected.

First, I was being sarcastic. I live in Brandon, and I grew up as the son of a JSU professor. I love Jackson, and I would not live anywhere else. I am just trying to portray the attitudes of most of the people that comment about Jackson on this board. All you ever hear is negative. Now in response to your post, frankly your post is crap. The city does have leadership that is not perfect, but you are throwing the baby out with the bath water. There is some great leadership, maybe not all of them but some of them. I just hate how all you ever hear about Jackson is negative. I have taught in JPS for the last ten years, let me guess all you know is negative. Do you know of the success stories, yes there are some? Of course you don’t because if it bleeds it leads. Jackson is not a bad place, far from perfect, but not a bad place at al|.

I'm glad they are doing something but I would love for it to be more attractive to draw concerts.
