Actually 9th. 10th on 247. Pointing it out because it needs to be pointed out. i understand it means nothing right now. However, you get the drift. Not to be critical, but NU is currently 9th in the big ten in recruiting. I'm all for Frost and am confident he can coach the players up. However, he needs to pick it up a notch.
You're right about one thing...it means nothing right now. A ridiculously inane post. If we are 9th or 10th on signing day, then you can complain, but we won't be, so chill.
TLOL. Ok. Our 2018 class ended up #3 in the Big and that was with Frost only getting 2 months to recruit, and really considering the majority of the class committed at the early signing period he really only had 2 weeks. I have no doubt that by signing day we’ll be top 5, if not top 2 or 3 again.
I wouldn't worry about it. Remember they did quite well last year only coming on the job in early December and having to prepare UCF for the bowl game. I predict there also will be a lot of flips among the recruits that are already committed to schools now.Not to be critical, but NU is currently 9th in the big ten in recruiting. Went to a wedding reception. You know how that goes. When i got home, I thought it was late December for some reason. When I woke up, my throbbing head told me it was June. You are totally right. It's early in the game.I wouldn't worry about it. Remember they did quite well last year only coming on the job in early December and having to prepare UCF for the bowl game. Let me see. The numbers do not count the grad transfer DL or the Juco DB who will have IMMEDIATE eligiblity and could contribute this fall. Gosh those 2019 recruits might not contribute until 2020 or beyond. That's 11 recruits added. Look at the glass half full. Not to be critical, but NU is currently 9th in the big ten in recruiting. I'm all for Frost and am confident he can coach the players up. However, he needs to pick it up a notch.
Wrong, UCF beat Auburn and Frosty was the head coach of Nebraska at the time and won a national title.:Cool::Cool:I completely agree.
And he needs to start winning more games. He hasn't won a single game yet.
One of the dumbest posts I've seen in a long time, and that speaks volumes. Kansas was ranked in the top 20 in football recruiting rankings at one point last year. Look how that ended up. If you're not being critical, what exactly are you being? Not to be critical, but NU is currently 9th in the big ten in recruiting. I'm all for Frost and am confident he can coach the players up. However, he needs to pick it up a notch.

Something Ryan Held brings up in most (if not all) interviews. This coaching staff didn't just ride in from the sticks on a hay rack. They've been in Florida among some of the best talent high school in the nation. They've had success running their system and know exactly what it takes to win with their system. They also have had success identifying transfers and developing HS talent. This is something NU hasn't had for many years. And they had five players drafted at UCF in the last two year, picked before anyone NU had drafted during that time.
I say we give them some credit.

At the same time, the “too early” tag still works because there are still plenty of the big fish in the pond who haven’t committed anywhere yet. Remember that Frost brought in 7 four star recruits after the early signing period in December. The problem with the "way too early" argument is it doesn't add up. There are only so many fish in the pond and each time one gets caught, there are naturally fewer left for everyone else. I suppose you can add in a few who may de-commit but that is likely a small number in the bigger scheme of things. I will go out on a limb and say that if we had the opportunity to fill our class pretty early with higher rated players we wouldn't be using the "too early" tag.

We should hire bill Callahan as our recruiting coordinator. Man could he recruit. #wco
He wouldn’t have stayed at Nebraska very long if he was successful. I think he would have left for the first NFL team that would have offered him a head coaching job. And he probably would have gotten an offer if he was successful at Nebraska.Agreed there. No one will or should disagree with that. But Callahan is hated and he won’t get any credit given. But yes, no clue what he said, what he did or what he claimed but he was able to recruit at a high level while having bad seasons. No clue how he did that. That final season he was here, at that very point we had Blaine Gabbert (our first ever 5 star QB), Jonas Grey 5.9 or 6.0 RB and like 3-4 others in the top 100 and a bunch of other top 100-250 players looking at us. We had a top 3 or 5 recruiting class when he was fired. Sucked watching us lose those guys but Callahan did have to go. If he would have just hired a big name Defense Cord. lord knows how long he’d been here.
