1) Stanton (0-0) at Bloomfield (0-0)
- This should be an exciting one. Stanton on the back-end of a streak or do they simply plug and play with up-and-comers? Bloomfield looking to put it all together with a big/physical team. A big chance to start off HOT for the Bees.

2) Cambridge (D2) (0-0) at Arapahoe (0-0)
- Cambridge building on something, have heard they had a good summer. Arapahoe has become a consistent winner in the last several years. I think this will be a physical football game with the potential to be a "who has the ball last" type of situation
Arapahoe 24 - Cambridge 22
3) Crofton (0-0) at Wynot (0-0)
- Crofton under new leadership looks to start a new era. They have great size and should be as physical of a team as anyone in 8-man this year. Wynot is Wynot - they're going to show up and play tough, a mix of speed and toughness. I predict a bit of a high scoring affair as both offense fire on all cylinders.

4) Central Valley (0-0) at Riverside (0-0)
- 1 of 2 games in D2 that are big time right out of the gates. Easily 2 of the top 5-6 teams in the state. Central Valley may be poised to not skip a beat from last season. Riverside always competitive and well coached.

5) Howells-Dodge (0-0) at Lawrence-Nelson (0-0)
- 2nd of the D2 games that should have everyone's attention. Lawrence-Nelson's rising star at QB with a Big10 offer with a roster full of talent versus Howells-Dodge, a football tradition as deep if not deeper than any in the state. Two well coached teams, physical players and a lot of pride on the line. Expect Speirs and company to keep the ball on the ground and limit possessions for the potent Lawrence-Nelson offense.
